Got a speeding ticket, dammit.....

So true Gordon. We have a customers car in here...theft recovery. PD says no leads on who did it (stole it from St Pete/Clearwater Int. airport long-term parking and trashed every inch of the car) and they say "no leads or clues". I open the car door and right there I see a bottle of wild turkey (with water in), several empty bindles with white residue & weed residue, philly blunts, trading cards for a hip-hop DJ signed to I assume the perp, weed seads everywhere, hip-hop CD's & cases, (all good for prints), an invitation to a hip-hop party addressed to the same, and a pack of baseball like cards w/St Pete PD officers.....They NEVER even looked in the car to even TRY to solve this crime????? I assume they just called the tow co. to get it when found.

No revenue & added hours would be my guess......tickets are easy & steady.

I can recall the day (not that long ago) that unless you were doing something else that got our attention or we needed a reason to stop you for "other purposes", 13 over on a main road, wouldn't have even gotten our attention:nonod:

I'm so fed up with our state pissing and whining about "lost revenues" from the tax roll back I could puke. Especially when traffic fines and the lot are so rediculously high!:mad:

If you go to court, based upon your records (as stated to us), the hearing officer may give you an withold and -0- points, and reduce the fine to court cost.

Then again...they may not?

Might be simpler (and safer nowdays) to do the on line driving school thing, and be done with it.

ok i know this is old but read all the way threw it but i only have 1 question? hay rich can i barrow $101 rofl. and i got my first ticket in my forst vette a few weeks ago. i deserved evry bit of it and fo the first tim every proud i got a ticket in a vette rofl. misorderly conduct. i smoked the hell out of those tires. to my bad luck a trooper drove by and see the smoke and desided to have a look. when all that damn smoke cleared there was my white vette right in the middle. rofl

well i hate to update an older post again but damn. 2 tickets in one week. one speeding up i diserved it second 3 days later when a trooper in tallahassed pulled me over at the red light next to the tennessee street burger king. he claimed i was doing 45 in a 30. but as my rec for luch shows i was at that burger king for over 30 min and pulled out to a red light. no way i could have gotten up to that speed in lunch time traffic. i will be fighting the second ticket.
 
ya the idiot didnt even know the speed zone he was in just seen a corvette and nailed me. but i kept the rec for court its 30 min from rept time to ticket time and manager will vough i was there almost 30 min

Read the other day where a lot of agencies personnel are being "urged" to do away with the "grace area" of 10-12-15 most of us usually stuck to.

It made the tickets more solid, less easy to fight and win, and didn't make us look like total dicks for writing you at 50 in a 35.

Yes it is....there's fractions in my subtraction, and X don't equal Y, but my homework is bound to multiply....MATH SUCKS! (jb):lmao:

you missed the point. i pulled out of the bk on west tennessee streeet and emediately got stopped bt the red light. as soon as the light turned green i got pulled over 40 feet from the light. now this is entraptment or and idiot trooped. he was not even aware i was in a 35 zone well inside and in less then 4 blocks its a 45 zone. so yes fighting this ticket. i had 3 radar detectors on and none of them went off. he got a nice ass chewing on the side walk.

Plus radar detectors don't detect Laser, VASCAR, the stop watch method, or Pace Clocks.....

Well, take pictures of the intersection, see if you can find any witnesses who were at the BK, and have all your ducks available to be lined up in a row for the judge to examine. And hope when the judge asks the officer about your attitude then, "he got a nice ass chewing on the side walk" doesn't wind up biting you in the ass. Like it or not, if there is any room for doubt, the judge will normally give the BENEFIT of the doubt to the LEO.
 
if i am in the wrong then i dont complain. I even informed the officer i was in a 35 zone. and the way my engine was knocking ( broken opiston ring) jack rabit starts are out of the question. Even after i pointed out i was in the 35 zone and showed the officer i was just 1 block away at bk. There was no way i was speeding. He smarted off and said those radar detetors dint help you much did they you might wana have them looked at becuse they apparently dont work.


i was nice to this point. i ask how did he clock me and may i see his dash as proof he replyed no and with laser. i informed him that last time i used a laser you still had to be stationary. and from the time i pulled out if you clocked me there is no way in this traffic you would have cought up with me and pulled me over in 1 block. he then got very rude.
