Hello from a Newbie!

:wavey: Dear Florida 'Vetters

I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself.I'm in Miami Beach and I purchased my first 'Vette a few months ago. It is a 1993 "vert-Triple White (but the previous owner replaced the white top with a black one which I will change back in a year or so). The car has about 70,000 miles on it and it is mechanically sound. There are a few issues that I want to correct.
I posted an issue dealing with driver's side wiper blade lapping over the A pillar. If anyone has a fix, I'd love to hear from you. I've reset the arm as low as it will go and I've put a 1 inch shorter blade on also. It's still lapping-and damaging the A pillar. :banghead:
I LOVE my car. It is a welcome addition. I look forward to meeting many of you personally in the future.
Thanks

Bob

:welcome: To the forum! Now for some:pics: :munching_out: .

There are some shops on here, that'll chime in i'm sure, with regards to your car.
Again, Welcome!

Hi Bob, :welcome: to the site.

I also have a White '93 vert., black top and black interior. I truly enjoy the ride. I just bought it in Oct. of 2006.

I will have to watch the wiper action to see if I have the same problem. I don't use them much. On the highway the rain just beads up and slides off. I use the Flash Wax Grape Gloss and it works great.

Look forward to meeting you at a future event.

:welcome: I think you'll find a great group of people here. As for the windshield wiper blade problem, hopefully someone will have some ideas for you. Might be tough, as I get the impression that a lot of people just don't drive their vettes if there is a good chance of rain. Some may not even know how to turn ON the windshield wipers..... :hehehe:

Thanks for stopping by, and hope to see you a regular here.

Hello and :welcome: to the site!! Good luck with your wiper problem. Someone should be able to help you figure it out.
We'd like to see some pics of that vette, though! :yesnod:

Hi Welcome to the Forum. I would suggest going to a local corvette club and ask around. There's got to be a resource there for you and a great referral to a shop that will get it right the first time. Welcome again. Mark:welcome:

WOW What a Warm Welcome!

:thankyou2: WOW!!! What a warm and wonderful welcome from all of you!!
I really appreciate all of you taking time to say hello and introducing yourselves.

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone in the near future.

I too don't drive my 'Vette in the rain unless I happen to get caught in a Florida sun shower. I did by a driver though not a show car. It is sound mechanically, but has a few chips and nicks here and there. I do love her though!!

I will keep a watchful eye for an event to attend so I can meet people.

In the meantime, Thank you all and Happy Motoring!!

Bob

Hey Steve

My car does look like yours, except for the great chrome wheels!!
My car has a set of the 96 stock collectors wheels on it now. I have been looking at chrome but I wasn't certain whether to use a chrome version of the collector series or go back to the original saw blades in chrome.
Also, I have been researching where to purchase chrome wheels.
Any input you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hope your are having a great weekend!
Bob

Hi Bob,

Those are actually polished aluminum wheels. I ordered them though a company near Tampa on E-Bay. They are NOT sealed and I would never buy polished aluminum again, unless they were sealed with a clear coat. They constantly need cleaning. Can't use any of the brake dust wheel cleaners on them either. Only good old soap and water.

I do prefer the ZR-1 look over the stock saw blades. I also went to a wide wheel and I am running 315's on the back with 275's up front.

Steve

Thanks for the feedback, Steve.
I had a BMW L 6 once. I bought a set of original three piece BBS wheels for it and restored them. I had the aluminum polished just like your wheels are polished. They were absolutely beautiful and a nightmare to keep that way. I found that Mother's Billet Creme worked the best for keeping them looking good. I will not ever do that again either!
I agree with you that your ZR-1's do look great on the car. I like them better than the collector series, but I'm not sure of the actual difference's. I've never had the two wheels side by side to figure it out.
Have a great day!
Bob

Thank you so much.
So far I'm very impressed with everyone I've met on line through this site. I look forward to meeting people personally at an event in the near future.
Thank you all for such a warm welcome!
It means alot.
Bob
