OK I did what you told me to do...Somebody posted this site on Corvetteforum. I live in NC but I'm buying a piece of warm dirt down in Englewood and plan to end up there at some point. I love Florida.
 
:welcome: My parents used to take me to Englewood Beach when I was a kid (along with my brothers). That was back when the lower key itself was pretty much uninhabited. Used to be an old sandy road running from the asphault to Stump Pass. I chased many a critter around in that area. My mom lives near Manasota Beach now, so the wife and I stop down there whenever we can to visit.

And the wife and I used to vacation there back when we had time to take vacations.

Lots of real nice memories of those times......
 
:welcome: , I have been living on this warm sand (sorry very little dirt here) for 25 years and I don't miss the Western NY Winters. :ack2:

Back in the 70's and early 80's we stayed down on Lemonbay, at a place called Westons.

Yeah, stayed there myself. Of course now Debbie Weston owns most of that tip of the key. I heard she was selling the place, so not sure if she still owns it. Used to stay at the El Galeon quite often as well.

My mom and dad used to own the house on Wilhelm Drive right on the Gulf.
