Hi from Iraq

I just want to intro myself. I live in Palatka Florida when I'm in the States. When I get home I would like to move further south however homes are overly priced. Anyway I have been in Iraq for 19 months and cant wait until I come home to the beach and my car. I have an 06 coupe and I drove it two weeks and came back over. When I get home maybe a couple of us vette owners can hang out and talk about sports, women, politics, women and whatever else is interesting.

P.S. and women.

:welcome: Ouch! 19 months is a long time to be away from home.

Stay safe and come on back home as soon as you can.

:usa_flag: Hello and welcome. Keep your head down while your over there and come back safe. Hopefully someone trustworthy is looking after your new ride. Is this your first Vette? Definately get together when your back ...first one's on me :icon_cheers:

Come home

:welcome:

I'm sure we'll meet somewhere at a Vette gathering, where it'll be my pleasure to shake your hand and do our best to

Man! You have been over there a long time haven't you? Seriously though, I hope you get back soon. In the meantime, stay safe.

:welcome: to the site!

As a Viet Nam vet, I know how difficult it is to be away from family and friends and placed in a very difficult assignment. We know that you will continue to do your job well for us! Stay safe, and get the hell out of there as soon as you can so you can enjoy that Vette!

:welcome: to the site. Hope you're back here stateside soon. We'd love to see some pics of your '06 if you have them. Be safe and thanks for all you do over there!

I know how you feel....

Hate to say it, but been there and done that.

Not as long as you but did it just the same. Went there under CMATT to train the "new Iraqi Army" and ended up in Tadji, Sadr City and Camp Cuervo. 6 months later got wounded by an RPG in Sadr City and ended up getting medivaced out of Iraq to Germany to Eisenhower Medical Center back to Florida. Almost lost my leg, etc. etc and ended up with a medical retirement after 34 years! Bummer! I was only 4 years from my 60 mandatory retirement too! Anyway, stay safe, and never mind that ducking $hit, just stay out of the way of those damn incoming rockets, mortors and RPG'S so you can come back and enjoy that vette of yours. I'll tell you, my 05 has been about the best therapy I could have had bar none thruout all of this since my return-that vette has really been my lifesaver. It has kept me busy and my mind occupied beyond belief, never mind the fun factor. Never, never underestimate the power of a vette.
Hope we can have a drink after you get back and swap stories-stay safe.
Later,
Sadr City Sal:drinking: :usa_flag:

welCome! :welcome:

I also just wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the men and women that make up the American fighting forces. Our great way of life here has always come at a price, and those who step forward to pay in different ways for our freedoms are heroes. :usa_flag: :yourock:

btw, Palatka's not far from me. :wavey:
