C6 Hood Stripe Kit

I am thinking of buying the Hood Stripe Kit from Mid-America # 628-805(Picture insert) and have it installed professionally.

Has anyone installed this kit on their car?

Does it stay on the hood well?

Any problems when washing the car?

I have the kit from Ecklers that does just on the sides of the hood bump on the my C4...It was easy to install, but we went really REALLY slow to get all the bubbles out...that was about 4 years ago and I have had no issues...other than it says "L98" and now I have a ZZ4 motor.

If the kit you are looking at is the whole center portion of the hood, you probably should get it installed by someone so its nice and even with no creases/bubbles.

As far as washing, etc. I do my best to avoid the edges so that nothing gets pulled up...just in case.

Thanks. Yes, the plan is to have it professionally installed.
I had hood stripes like you mentioned on my '02 and had no problems.
The one I am planning to buy is much larger and more expensive so I though I asked if someone had installed one like this.

Good news, I bought the hood kit from a Chevy dealer and paid $176 rather than over $300 from Ecklers or Mid-America.

My buddy has a 2010 Grand Sport and he ordered fender stripes.

We dropped off the cars at the Chevy dealer for the install.

Bad news, we came back an hour later and the installer put my hood kit on my friends Vette. Now, his car is black. Why would anyone install a black hood stripe on a black car? He ripped it off and put the fender stripes on the GS.

Good news, after seeing the wide hood black stripe with the gray stripes on the sides, I didn't like it. Did not reorder.

Well thats a good news/bad news thing. But GEEZ, they installed them on the wrong car?? :banghead:
