C5 hud brightness

ive got mine finally all hooked up and it works. is there anyway i can make it brighter? i turned up the brightness all the way, but can barely see during the day. ive heard other people complain about it, but has anyone figured out a way to fix? if theres something i can do, while ive got it all torn apart
 
My C6 HUD is bright enough even on a bright day but when it gets dirty it is a lot less bright. I'm sure it was clean when you put it in so this is probably not any help.
 
is there a product that i could use to clean that area of the windshield that would help? im not sure if i have that windshield. my cluster had the inputs, and the dash pad had the outline of where to cut.
 
G M only installed the h u d glass in h u d equipped cars it makes a big difference .I had a windshield replaced and they installed a non h u d glass it was hard to see in day lite . they had to replace it
