Yeah, every time the history channel does a thing on carriers, they tell that story. He was very lucky that day, not so lucky a short while later. He was shot down not long after and became a guest at the hanoi hilton for several years.

I thought that was an odd remark too until I looked into it and his wife is also a Real Estate developer, in the millions $$$, and Houses come and go in that household. Some critics would like you to believe thats a problem. But I wont piss in his fire because of that. I forget how many Corvettes I own. My bad. LOl And my additional point is that the cream didn't rise to the top for this election, neither is a choice for me. My caddy at JDM, N. Palm Beach has better views and solutions.

Yea, I watched the FOX special they put together on McCain and Obama, and learned a few things about both that I was unaware of.
I knew McCain was a POW for like 5 1/2 yrs. But, prior to that, I didn't know he had crashed several planes :banghead
for various reasons), and ran into some power lines :bigear: as well. You'd think they'd have given him a desk job!:hehehe:
Wow, looks like having a father and grandfather as Admirals sure helped him out of a pinch or two

Yahoo had a thing on the income of both contending parties.
McCain and his wife dont share an income per say, which is nice cause it shows who the real bread winner is. McCain only rakes in around 400k range while his wife on the other hand makes the millions. Obama and his wife share an income of around 6 million a year i think.
I honestly dont see why the parties attack each others income, just means the person with less wasnt smart enough to invest/spend their money wisely.

I read years ago in the Navy Gazette how he was tortured and the broken arms that were set wrong by the Vietcong. Most Americans were at home smoking pot and listening to psychedelic music when he went thru years of hell. I never understand how critical people can be for those who live their lives serving the USA. :shrug01:
