In Search Of The Right Jack

als2052

Road Trip!
Bought one of those bronze jacking pucks @ Mid America. Now trying to find the right jack out there to install the puck on. Harbor Freight has a low profile 3000# jack for $85 but cannot tell if puck will fit. Any advice/comments welcomed on available jacks out there.

Walmart has a low pro file jack you can look at. Pep Boys has some if there are any of these by you and of course Sears. Use a $2.00 hockey puck and it should work with any low profile jack . I have 4 pucks doubled up, but have to sell my compressor to buy a jack :rofl1:

Hey Armando,

Most jacks will take the bronze jacking puck that you mentioned. You just have to remove the lifting saddle off the jack and replace it with the puck. Since you are looking at the Harbor Freight jack, why not go to the Harbor Freight retail store in Ft. Myers and check it out. Take the jacking puck with you and you should be able to check it out in the store. I am not endorsing their jack, just trying to give you some information to help your decision. BTW, their store in located on the left side of College Parkway before you get to McGregor.

Good luck with your search.

C5Rick,
Thought about the hockey puck route but concerned that puck may slip while lowering car.

Rich 427,
Went to Harbor Freight today and jack I mentioned does not receive the bronze puck. Other one there did but I would still have to drive up on wood plank to clear jack.

Thanks for your input guys, the search continues...

I use pucks with jacking up my Z06. Any low profile racing jack should work fine.

Advance Auto

I went to Advance Auto when they had their 2.5 ton jack on sale. It was $19.95 and I fully intended to purchase the "pucks" but when I got home and took off the part that sits on top of the jack part, I found that it fit perfectly in the "hole" section where the puck would go. I didn't have to buy the pucks and the jack fits into the trunk "well" when I go to shows. Check it out and save your money on pucks!
