My Dad needs your Prayers

I just got a call from my Dad. I figured it was a typical weekend call. Not the case. He said he had noticed he was getting winded frequently during minor physical exertion. So he went to the Dr. They did all kinds of tests, blood work and x-rays. The Dr called my Dad at work Friday and told him the x-ray revealed a mass in the upper part of one of his lungs.
Needless to say, my Dad was shocked. He has another appointment on Monday to get a cat-scan on his chest to further investigate the mass in his lung.
My father is the last living parent I have and I am asking for you prayers for him.
Thank in advance!

Jim

I'm sorry Jim:( Your dad will be in our thoughts and prayers daily.

Please keep us informed.

Jim, man, you got it. Major prayers heading to the man upstairs for him.... Give him our best wishes.

Jim -

You have and are most definitely in our thoughts and prayers. By now, your dad should know what he is up against. We hope it is not as bad as it sounds.

Please tell him to NEVER GIVE UP!

7 years ago, my mother was diagnosed with a golf ball sized tumor in her L lung...inoperable! With aggressive chemo and x-ray, they were able to kill that SOB and today, she has been Cancer Free for almost 5 years.

ATTITUDE and FAITH are key imho.

The Angel that sits on his shoulder will watch over your father.

Update

First off, thanks to everyone for the prayers. I know for a fact they are working! My Dad and I are so very greatful.

The mass in my Dad's left upper lung is a 7 cm tumor. It is a cancerous tumor. He had a biopsy of the mass and waited a week for the results. Finally the results are in and the news is good compared to what it could be.

The biopsy, and other tests, revealed that the cancerous tumor is a non-small cell type. This means that is is a slow growing type cell. Thats the good news. The other good news is that there are no indications of cancer anywhere else in his body. So, now he is off to a specilaist to see what can and will be done about the tumor. It may or may not be operable, depending on location and proximity to vital arteries and whatnot. However, there are numerous other treatments that can shrink and even kill the cancerous cells.

MMC5 - sounds like your Mom had what my Dad has now. I a praying that the results will be the same as well. I am going to share your story with my Dad for inspiration. Thanks brother!

Again, thank you all so very much from the bottom of my heart for the prayers for my Dad!

Jim

OK guys, that is clearly a sign that we can't let up on the prayers. Turn up the boost and get with it.......

I am truly honored Jim.

I was there when the Dr gave my mother the news. She was sitting on the exam table in a gown and in a slumped position. He put the x-ray on the wall and said "We are all going to die, but not all of us know how."

She snapped attention and immediately took the attitude that "BS! That thing isn't going to get me...I have too much more to do!"

Unbelievable Jim!

There is no doubt in my mind that your dad can whip this thing. Please tell him I said to KA&TN (kick a$$ & take names!)
