COULD SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY IT COSTS SO MUCH FOR A SWAP MEET SPACE @ NCRS SHOW @ OLD TOWN ? I HAVE SOME PARTS TO SELL AND AM NOT A NCRS MEMBER , BETWEEN HAVING TO JOIN AND THE SWAP SPACE IT'S $100 TO SELL PARTS. I ONLY WANT TO SELL ABOUT $200 WORTH OF PARTS . NOT WORTH IT . I'VE BEEN GOING SINCE IT WAS CYPRESS GARDENS (STILL CALL IT THAT) HAVE SEEN SUNGLASS VENDERS . CRAFT VENDERS AND MORE HOW DO THEY DO IT ?:toetap05::shrug01:

I dunno, I have never been a real fan of NCRS due to some of their rules. They reward the trailer queens with a ton of money for a frame off restoration and an enclosed trailer to take it to shows. I've seen many "Top flight" winners and such who don't even start up the car to get it off the trailer! I know they have the survivor classes, but they are secondary to the frame off guys in their book. I love the older Vettes, and love to see them on the road!

Rant off-

How much have you spent to go to the show in all those years?? Not only is the event free you do not have to pay to park. It costs money to put on the event so we have to base charges on costs we expect to have to pay. You want to sell just a few parts? Most of the used parts dealers will buy what you have, all you have to do is just ask. I know at least one vender who brings an empty truck/trailer to take back what he buys there, (JT Piper) . 98% of the 140+ venders sell Corvette related stuff. Vendors selling that you talk about do not do well and do not come back as that kind of stuff is avaliable in the Oldtown shops. You must enjoy the show as you have been coming all these years.

If you have only $200 worth of parts seems like it would be bad math to rent a space and go there. Did you post your parts here and on other corvette/ chevy related forums? Good luck

Tyler - how does it work if I have a C1 I just want to drive to Old Town - not to be judged or sold (yet anyway). I'd like folks to see it but want to park it in somewhat of a protected area not out where the unwashed masses can ding it up or remove items ?

If you are a member of NCRS we have a Sportsman class that we park on the judging field. (This is done at all NCRS events) It requires registration $45 (you) and is $20 to 'enter your car in' that class, you can remove the car in the evenings or leave it there. At our meet we have this area fenced off and lock a guard in to make sure the cars are there when we come back in the morning.

If you are just comming to the show on Saturday, only Corvettes will be parked in the general parking spaces around Oldtown, all others will be parked on the other side of 192 and bussed or walk to the event. (Until all spaces are full.)

So chances are you will be parked next to people who respect your car. It also makes for a great imprompt-to car show and your car would fit right in.

Great show, great time, great people. I enjoy this show very much and do not mind paying for what ever I use. It costs the chapter money to put this event on and they need to re -coup thier costs ! Great job Tyler ! And all the rest of the group to numerous to mention!
