Heres my story: My 01 Z06 is my daily driver. It has a 2002 Z06 engine with a Ligenfelter H/C package on it. About 433 to the rear wheels.
I drive the car about 1000 per week...yep, 1000 a week...Uncle Sam don't pay enough to have a 50K plus garage ornament! 700 of those per week miles are from Jax to PCola and back each weekend.
So, about 3 weeks ago I was making my usual trip to see the wife and kids in PCola. I pulled over at a rest stop...when I was getting back on the highway, 1st gear, no problem, 2nd, no problem, 3rd, haulin ass now, 4th, 70 or 80 blending with traffic, 5th OOOHHH SHIT...did I miss 5th??? Nope, try 6th...OOOHHH SHIT....back to 5th...DAMN..both gears GONE. Just a nasty not quite a grinding but a metal on metal don't wanna grab sound. So, back to 4th I go. :banghead: :banghead:
Quick pull over at a wendy's parking lot for a shifter alignment...people were looking at me like I was try to steal my own car with the console coming out and whatnot..kinda funny. Alignment done. Back on the road with the same results....SHIT...:banghead: :banghead:
So, short story really long, my Christmas present is a new RPM Transmissions Level V transmission!
I will be removing the old and installing the new in my garage so if anyone wants to stop buy and help a brother out, feel free to drop me a line!
Any tips and experiences anyone wants to share will be much appreciated!!!
