hey to every c2 owner on earth. I am starting the restoration of a sad 64 roadster. I found frame rust on side rail ahead of left rear tire. planning to remove body. need a mentor who has gone down this road to advise me. I have removed the easy stuff so far but now contemplating the right way to lift the body without making a pile of broken plastic. the complete carcass is on jack stands in a two car home garage. I have the normal complement of hand tools and large balls.

You might check with RevXtreme on here. They're right there in your back yard and Tracy is a wealth of information.

Welcome to the site. Enjoy:thumbsup::wavey::welcome:

:welcome: to the site and I agree with Shadow on RevExtreme as a local resource for you. :thumbsup:

thanks
I am new to this site so I have not figured out how to contact revXtreme yet.

Stop in! We have a 64 roadster almost finished, and another coming right behind it. If the frame is to bad, then good ones are available reasonable.

You want to look at the body mounts right under the rear of the doors as a problem area. 941-753-5255.

Thanks Shadow & Thor!:thumbsup:

Thanks for the steer to revextreme. Tracy is old school talented and sincere. He has a huge knowlege base that he is more than happy to share with others. In the end I realized the yanking off the roadster body from my rusty frame is more than I am set up for. My $ resources are very limited so we agreed the right plan for me is to purchase a replacement frame through him and he would do the swap. The budget I had planned for bling and go fast stuff will be used for major surgery and I will just need to drive a rat rod untill I can recover the $ resources. Tracy was gracious enough to give me the cooks tour of his shop and invites all vette owners to stop buy. I did not get a sample of his coffee but I am sure it must be milspec strong. Who would believe a 400 hp+ 64 vette still capable of 32 mpg. My hats off to Revextreme and all the good folks with plastic dream cars.

Thanks much for giving me your time and advise on my 64 vette project. I relayed our conversation to my wrench buddy and we will stop by to initiate the search for a replacement frame. I very much appreciate honesty and integrity, qualities you seem to have. We will be back intouch shortly.
