C5 No 2-3 Shift at WOT

First of all, hello everyone, I'm new here. About one month ago I bought a Torch Red 98 automatic with 125k miles. It seems well taken care of, like most Corvettes, just the normal chips in the front, and the leather seats are begining to wear.

Well, after having the car 1 day I got a check engine light. P1870. transmission slipping. The CEL caused harsh shifting which would go away once I erased the code. The code would come back on if I drove 55-65 steady, TCC lockup would come on and off and set the code.

After all this I tried going WOT with no codes stored and it will not shift into 3rd gear. The engine keeps going right up to the rev limiter and will not shift unless I back off the gas. The car drives fine under normal throttle, goes through all the gears fine, downshifts fine, but under full throttle it will not shift into third.

I swapped out the valve body and it still does the same thing, although I was unable to swap out the seperator plate because I could not find someone with it in stock. The seperator plate is worn from the steel balls. I will have to get a new one(Transgo) and put it in.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? The car pulls hard and I don't notice any slippage. Although when putting the car in drive or reverse there is a slight delay.

Thanks in advance sorry for my novel

No idea Juan but stop by RevXtreme and talk with Tracy Lewis. Great Team there willing to help. Across the street from Oneco Fire Station on old 301.

Yep, I live about 3 minutes from there. Will have to go there maybe next week. I see next saturday they are having an activity there, I think i'll be there.

Wear in the 2-3 clutch pak so it is slipping just enough to hit the rev limiter. Common in the 4L60E. We rebuild them with much stronger internals that can withstand up to 600hp or so.
