Let me begin by saying this sounds like horse s*it to me but I want some real info if any inner insight is available.

I just contacted the GM extended warranty underwriter who told me that the 03 Z06 was not listed available for coverage by an extended warranty because........ "in the last month their have been 107 service or recall notices issued".

I may be silly but I don't think I can shovel this much s*it in one day.

What do you who know more then I have to say?

I want class A extended coverage on a very clean low miles Z06. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks

When I bought my 2002 Z06 used, I couldn't find ANYONE who would do an extended warranty on it. They all said they just will not cover the Z06 model at all. :shrug01:

Of course, it had 50K+ miles on it so that may have been a factor....

I am on my second GMPP extended warranty on my '03 Z06 which expires next summer--which means I will have owned the car for 10 years and had a warranty. If my memory serves me correctly, I had to buy the GMPP warranty "more than 90 days" before my original warranty expired and then again before my first extended warranty expired. GMPP will not warranty if you have 72K miles either. Everything I have seen or read says stay away from third party auto warranties. Hope this helps.:)

GM has turned me down too even based on recomendations from my friends here. It's getting to the point that I'll just "tote the note" if and when repairs are needed.

That weird Ken. I just renewed my extended warranty on my 07 for 4 more years at the local Chevrolet dealer and it was easy as pie and they were happy to do it. Go figure. :shrug01:

Mark, what I have repeatedly been told is they will warranty any other Vette but the Z06 unless you bought at time of vehicle purchase. It is weird.

I do remember the dealer saying that extended warranties could be extended as long as the current warranty was still in effect. I had 1 month left on my original warranty before I renewed.
Did you try another Chevrolet dealer to check the validity? Maybe a call to GM might help too. Hope it helps. Mark

Thanks Mark,

Both are good suggestions that I will follow up on.

The 07's and newer are covered by GM up to 100,000 miles by their powertrain warranty. So GM is already footing part of the bill. A GMPP contract is just an added bonus for them on those cars. The extended warranty would only have to cover what powertrain did not.
