Prayers needed for a friend

THOR

New member
My heart is filled with remorse and sadness as I write this. A friend of mine has a 19 year old son, Heath, with terminal cancer of the sacrum. He's been treated at Moffit and Boston and they can no longer help him. Now the cancer has returned and spread to other parts of his body and he having unbelievable pain.
I know his parents are just beside themselves with grief and despair. Gary, the dad, is a lieutenant with the Manatee County Sheriff Department and a ex Navy Seal. I don't know the mom but I understand she is an awesome mother.
Death will strike each one of us eventually but how in the heck do you deal with the loss or impending loss of a child?????
I ask that each of you pray for this family and for Heath.
Recently, Heath had the opportunity to meet with Slash, formerly of Guns and Roses, and fulfill a dream of recording with him. As I understand it, Slash heard about Heath and wanted to meet him. Heath and his family were flown to California and were met by Slash. He will be using one of Heath's songs on his future album.
Most of all for those of you with kids, why not hug them and love them everyday!!! Time is too damn short for anything else. Mark

Mark,

This breaks my heart:(

It's one thing to lose a loved one, but a child, regardless of the age...it's not right!

Please, tell the family that we (our family, our church small group and some others) will be praying for them...all of them.

And if there's anything we can do, please don't hesitate to call...seriously!

Gordon

Our hearts go out to them...we know only too well the feeling, having experienced the same loss recently. We are not supposed to out-live our children. We have them in our prayers.

OMG..

I can't for the life of me fathom the Idea of out living my children. That would be beyond torture IMO.:nonod:

May GOD bless their family and watch over them.
They'll be in our thoughts and Prayers.

Damn, that's rough..... I doubt we will ever be able to ever understand the "why" of such things in the big scheme of things. I know they say that God works in mysterious ways, but I do wish there were better paths for him to take.....

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. I'll be passing them along next time I see them. Mark
