Now that we are "inside" the 2 years until the caravan, I will be able to start sharing information with you as it happens.

I cannot give you a full itinerary yet, but I can give you some information.

So far......

Ferman Chevrolet in Brandon has agreed to (once again) sponsor the official ''Kick Off" of the caravan. We will have several "feeder" caravans meet us there for activities that will be announced at a later date. Thanks go out to Ferman for sponsoring this important event.

From there we will head to Lake City and Jasper, where Bruce Glueck Chevrolet will host our first night in a similar fashion to what they did in 2003.
(And what a great night it was!) Thank you Bruce and Becky!!!

I am hoping to have an answer in the next few weeks as to what will be taking place the following night, but until I get confirmations, it will have to wait!

Thanks also go out to Tommy Farruggio at Ferman Chev. for his help in securing these two events.

Also, I am very happy to announce that Alan and Chelby Clark have agreed to be my Co-Captains for Florida. They are great people, and I look forward to working with them!

One more thing I can let out of the bag...

In the next few months we will be announcing a contest to design the Florida Caravan T-Shirts! I know there are a lot of talented people out there who would love to submit their ideas of what they would like to see. As soon as we can establish the parameters, we will give you all the details.

That's it for now!

Update 9/17/07

It is now confirmed that activities in Bowling Green will take place starting Thursday morning, and continuing through Friday, and Saturday.

Our caravan will start on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, so get ready for a full week of Corvette fun!

This will be a vacation you will never forget.

I appreciate the follow up. My wife and I drove our 07 from the NCM last December and we're still smilin'. For those of you who haven't been to the NCM and Bowling Green Assembly Plant, you're in for a treat and some awesome memories.

Armando, did Tail of the Dragon twice. What a hoot!! Police in the area have been increased, so keep alert (and have fun!)

Trip last Summer

My collage best friend and I did the trip last summer with his 2002 and my old 1997. What an experience!!!

Everyone needs to try it once....

For those who don't understand the "Tail"

It is quite an experience. I highly recommend you do it a least once.
Also while you are in the general area check out the Biltmore, it is truely
remarkable.:yesnod:

Planning to go there next month plus do the Dragon, Cherahola and Blue Ridge Pkwy.

Just got back yesterday - Bowling Green museum & plant tour was great - Super 8 Hotel which is on same exit (28) is taking reservations for Sept 2009 although rates are unknown at this time (someone has already booked 20 rooms at this time). Dinner @ Montana Grille was great as usual.

Drove Tail of the Dragon at night and in the wet (what a hoot) - Microtel Suites in Robbinsville is still a great place to spend the night.

Drove 129 to start of Blue Ridge Parkway (great ride). Blue Ridge Pkyw was socked in with clouds so was only able to do a couple miles due to almost zero visibility (big dissapointment) - plan was to drive the parkway throught NC but guess it will have to wait until next time when I do the Virginia leg.

Ran up to Mt. Airy, NC (birthplace of Andy Griffith & Donna Fargo) - beautiful little town with very friendly people.

Due to all weather encountered, my silver beauty was a mess when I got home (took 6 hours to get her back in show condition) but all in all it was worth it.

Looking forward to living in those "neck of the woods" someday.

Armando, glad you're back safe and sound but somewhat wet! Thanks for the "heads up" on the newer Motel 8 in BG. I am now officially on their "wait" list. I can remember the stress I went through trying to book a room for the 2003 caravan! However, now that I am older and wiser...
