Rain today

Still not a drop here, and nothing on the forecast that looks promising.

The grass is all drying up and getting crunchy. Been watering the citrus trees so the fruits won't start shriveling up.

You may not get a drop for weeks. I won't see anything for at least 7 more days. And the wet season ends around 20th anyways.

But keep a eye out in the gulf in OCT for a tropical system.

Only got 0.13 inch of rain today, watching the bigger storms go all around us. But better than nothing. Not much chance of more rain through the end of the month here.

Well we got the closest to rain today than any other day for about the past month. We heard thunder off on the horizon to the northwest. :dead:

We got 0.18" of rain today. Not much, but better than nothing, I guess.

Plants are really getting distressed. Grass is pretty much history.

Any forecast chance of getting more rain any time soon just blew out the window. Hope we don't burn up the well pump constantly watering the fruit trees in the meantime. The navel tree has already dropped a couple of fruit from being stressed out from the heat and dryness.

64 degrees here right now. Got down to 54 degrees overnight.

Looks like potentially more rain coming over the weekend.

I'm just glad some idiot nearby didn't start burning leaves and branches and touch off a conflagration nearby during that hot and DRY period we just had. We are surrounded by woods and it could have gotten grim.

Looks like a tropical storm developing in SW Gulf of Mexico. So things could get messy over the weekend.

Been getting a light rain all morning (just 0.08" so far) from that tropical storm in the Gulf, but rain seems to be pickup up now.

Definitely more like fall temps now. Just barely reached 61 degrees all day. Had to put on long pants.

Still only got 0.27" of rain all day. But according to Ventusky, that could change overnight and by daybreak, we could be seeing 4 inches or so.

Well, my weather station died last night, so I don't know how much rain we got and are getting right now. But getting some pretty strong winds too.

Figures.... When we had nothing but hot and dry weather, the weather station just chugged along, but now when I would really like to have it giving me some info, Murphy's Law sticks his big toe into things.

:face_palm_02:

So I moved the receiver for the weather station sitting in my den over to the right 3 inches (further away from my wireless router) and now it is working. Why didn't I think of trying that last night? I relocated my cable modem yesterday and must have moved the weather station receiver at the same time. Apparently just that small amount of movement makes a difference.

:banghead:

We've just been getting scattered light showers here the past few days. Tuesday was 0.19", Sunday was 0.12", Saturday 0.01", and Friday, 0.06".

According to the weather radar, heavier rainfalls were all around us and now hanging around to the west around Ft. Walton.

Showing 0.01" today, with more likely later. And more continuing on into Thursday.

Basically been days that make thinking of doing anything outside not all that attractive.
