Rain today

When i first got cable in 1986 i liked the music on the forecast. But it just went dowhill in the mid 90's.

Most of what i watch is 60 and 70's tv shows.

Pick up some music from The Rippingtons. That is who wrote and performed the music on those old Weather Channel days. I wound up buying every one of them they made on music CDs. It can still put me into nap mode in a hurry. :)

Connie and I are watching the Frasier TV series right now. We originally watched it on NetFlix and just recently bought the entire series on DVD.

Looks like the rain has ended for the time being.

Wound up getting 2.16" for this rain event. 0.37" of it today.

Looks like more rain in the forecast for tomorrow. Short break for Tuesday, and then more rain forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. Supposed to get pretty chilly on Friday night so we will be dragging out the tarps again for the pineapple plants.

Getting new growth on the citrus trees, and one of the pear trees behind the garage is putting out flowers like there is no tomorrow.

Connie had to let a lot of her Meyer's lemons just fall to the ground and rot. With this lockdown stuff, she didn't have much of anyone to give them to like she normally does. We really didn't have the surplus of tangerines like we normally do, but we kept up with eating them. Except for the one grove we have that the varmints pretty much wiped out.

Two squirrels got sent to the happy hunting grounds over that incident.

We got 1.19" of rain today. ALL day long. Might be a bit more overnight.

5.71 inches for the month of February so far.

14.20 inches for 2021, so far.

Sure am glad we didn't get that cold blast like Texas got. Otherwise we might be knee deep in that white crap.

But on the bright side, Bill Gates is here to help....

What rainfall amounts do you see around your area? I don't know of any place in the state that has had 5" total yet. Not even 2" for my area for the year yet. Tampa is around 3" I won't see 14" by Aug.

Well, I don't know about other areas. I only monitor what is happening right here with my weather station gizmo. According to which, we have had 5.76" so far just in February. Except for some minor showers here and there, pretty much every appreciable rainstorm we have had is listed in this thread for the year.

I don't know if anyone else can access the data online collected from my weather station, but this is the direct URL to that info -> https://ambientweather.net/dashboard/d94d1005394fb2cfc6aee6ac1a9d62be

It may also be possible to access other weather stations in that ambientweather network, but I never tried it myself.

We got 1.11" of rain today (Monday). Looks like we will probably get more through Wednesday.

I was actually going to take the vette out, but there were these popcorn style rainstorms all around us, and I decided against it. I am REALLY going to try to put more than 258 miles on the car in 2021.

We got 0.23" of rain on Tuesday, and then early AM this morning (Thursday) we got 0.98" between 09:30am and 11:00 am.

I thought the storm system in the Gulf was going to stay south of us, but we did get some rain out of it in the early AM hours. 0.84". Not too heavy to be knocking blooms off of the fruit trees, and enough to give the roots a good soaking.

Temps are supposed to drop down to 39 to 40 degrees come Thursday and Friday nights, so I hope it doesn't really drop down lower and cause damage to all the new growth. That has happened here in the past years a couple of times.

We got 0.29" of rain before midnight last night. Might get another dribble or two before morning, according to the radar.

Heading into April with 18.33" of rain for the year so far.

Well, looks like the usual Spring drought here hasn't set in quite yet. We got 0.43" of rain today (Friday), and looks like there may be more in store for us over the weekend.

We got 0.45" more today. No real heavy downpours just light showers all day long. Good for watering the fruit trees, I guess, but made for a real gloomy day.

We got 0.45" overnight associated with lots of thunder and lightning. Seems like we are in a rut with getting just under a half inch of rain during each incident.

According to what I see in the radar, you might be getting more rain right now.

I thought we would get a lot more rain today, but turned out that most of the rain slid south of us and we only got 0.23" all total.

Moderate chances of rain for the next 10 days, so the dry season apparently hasn't kicked in yet.
