Rain today

Had lots of lightning and thunder last night, but only got 0.05" of rain out of it.

Another night of mostly "bark" but little "bite". Lots of thunder and lightning, but only 0.06" of rain.

We got 2.92 inches. Mosquitoes are beginning to take advantage of the wetness. Little darn suckers, though. Can't feel them till they bite.

0.22" this afternoon. Looked like more was heading in tonight, but it evaporated right before getting here.

Yeah. I'm watching the forecast on Ventusky, and it appears something will be likely developing on Wednesday due south of us. But the predictions are for it to move west and eventually impact Texas.

I'm expecting more rain all this week. Our road is already a mess from the rain we have already gotten. They are supposed to start putting my car back together again starting today, but I may not be able to bring it back home without mud bogging it.

Had lots of rain all around us yesterday and today, but only got 0.04" yesterday and a measly 0.01" today. Our road is actually starting to dry out, but they scraped it today, so that normally precedes a downpour.

We had a short but pretty intense rainstorm this morning. Knocked some fruits off of one of our Asian pear trees. Only registered 0.12" on the rain gauge, though.

Darn shame that my windspeed gauge doesn't seem to work very well.

Rained off and on all day today. Usually rained when I was trying to work on my Onan standby generator....

All in all it only amounted to 0.26" of rain over what we got early this morning, so it was really little more than nuisance rain.

Power did flicker several times. Sort of brought back the memories of the power companies in this area being known as "Florida Flicker and Flash". I'm surprised power hasn't gone kaput for a long spell now that my generator is out of action. Murphy's Law just loves pulling crap like that.

The morning actually looked promising. For a while. Then it pretty much rained all the rest of the day. So I didn't get to work on the generator like I had hoped I would be able to.

2.32 inches of rain logged.

We got 0.28" more rain overnight. Looks like the rain bands from Barry have moved on out to the west.

Hope all the rain we got doesn't produce a population bloom of mosquitoes. I've got four Mosquito Magnets running right now. Been seeing some really small mosquitoes around here after the yellow flies began to taper off.

I need 3 or 4 days to dry out. Got around 10" so far this month.
