Rain today

We got 0.61" of rain today. Not a lot, but we'll gladly take it. Things have been pretty dry around here lately.

We will be having modest chances of rain beginning next week, but of course this is all subject to change. The 80 percent forecast for rain yesterday just popped up all of a sudden after nothing really showing in the forecast a week or so in advance.

I am worried about a major hurricane popping up while this coronavirus thing is ongoing. Having a bunch of people evacuating from anywhere going anywhere else is going to be fraught with complications. Many people will be thinking, "what will be worse, damage from the hurricane, or going somewhere and catching this virus there?" Or possibly targeted destinations turning people away afraid they are bringing the virus to them. Imagine all of Miami needing to be evacuated right now with all the COVID-19 cases there.

Seems 2020 is being a rather interesting time so far.

Tampa is due for a big storm since 1921 was the last time. Seems like this year could be the end as everything is going down the tubes. Lots has happened since my sister passed away last Sept. Maybe we will be past the hump by the time a storm would bother us in Aug thru Oct.

Got a quarter inch of rain this morning early. So we will still be running irrigation on the fruit trees.

That line of rain has gone poof as it comes south. Apr may not get a drop as well in my area. Fires are gonna start up soon.

Weather radar showed a line of storms moving through here just a couple of hours ago. Not a drop of rain out of it, as best I can tell.

I don't have high hopes the rest of this week, regardless of the forecast showing a good chance of rain several of the next few days.

This is always an odd time of year for precipitation around here.

We got 0.20" of rain today. Might get a little more overnight as there appears to be some storms heading this way from the southwest. But I'm not expecting much out of them.

We just had a healthy storm pass through this morning. 1.24" of rain, so far, with maybe more coming.

We got 0.67" in the early AM hours last night. LOTS of lightning associated with it. Power flickered off momentarily, just enough to reset our clocks and shut off my air cleaners in a couple of the buildings. Had a tornado watch too.

Forecast looks clear until Thursday, with temps reaching to mid 80s.

Up here in the mountains we got about an inch of frozen snow /ice last night .We're about 4 weeks ahead of schedule on the largest paint booth in the northeast 60x340 x50 with 40 ton bridge cranes .One day it rains ,next day snow a good night it only gets down to 20 and a good day it gets up around the mid 40's .Also note it's always windy 20mph is mild .

My wife sends me a text from ft myers every morning saying it got down to 66 last night .I tell her my bone marrow froze.
