Rain today

1.22" of rain yesterday (Monday). Had a few sprinkles a couple of days beforehand, but nothing amounting to more that a couple tenths of an inch. Just enough to top off the humidity level.

Just some light showers here the last couple of days. 0.13" in Tuesday, and 0.21" today.

We got some backwash from Ida today, amounting to 1.19" of rain.

For the month of August: 9.27"
Year to date total: 56.93"

Been raining all morning. We are under a flash flood watch thru 8:00 am Thursday.

0.80" of rain so far, so not particularly noteworthy in that respect.

Hmm, well they are actually calling this rain storm a "tropical storm" now. I can actually see a bit of rotation in the bands feeding it. Probably a lucky thing this didn't start developing further south, otherwise we might be dealing with another hurricane right now.

I am glad that "Larry" hurricane is way out in the Atlantic and not predicted to make landfall anywhere in the USA. Looks like quite a large and impressive storm.

Well, raining harder now and the wind REALLY has kicked up. I'm hearing all kinds of stuff falling out of trees hitting the roof. Hope the new roof is tougher than the branches falling and banging against it.

I guess this was sort of a sneak attack tropical storm.

We got 0.43" more rain after midnight. Power went out around 3:45am and was off for 45 minutes. I was playing on the computer at the time and just shut it all down before the UPS boxes ran out of juice.

Winds got pretty brisk last night. Don't see any trees down from it, though.

Sun is shining today, but might be some spotty showers this afternoon.

I see that that named that tropical storm that snuck up on us as "Mindy".

Had a brief shower on Saturday that dropped 0.38" of rain. Radar looked pretty clear until that came out of nowhere.

We are catching some bands off of that tropical storm that came in to the west of us. Showing 1.20" of rain with more still coming.
