Rain today

Sorry 6" of sand and sand spurs here. I have no clue what has gone wrong to have my weather change this much in over 48 years. It is only within one mile of the gulf from Tarpon springs to Cedar key that never gets rain anymore and winters never have cold or rain as well. You can look at the radar in the summer and see no clouds within a mile of the coast while inland gets all the rain or east coast.
Man, I absolutely HATE sand spurs. When Connie and I first bought our property, it was heavily infested with those infernal plants. We came down here to camp out on our land and spent most of the time clearing them out. We would take large plastic bags filled with them to the dump. I think we got them all, thank goodness.

Had a short storm blow through here. 0.23" of rain.

Your property would likely be great for growing cactus plants from the American southwest deserts.

Connie and I were digging them up to get the roots. That seemed to work quite well getting rid of them.

Got a few days with just 0.05" of rain and then today (Wednesday) got 0.34". Just enough to keep things moist and the humidity at around 100%. Mosquitoes are getting a little pesky and even had a half dozen or so yellow flies harassing me while I was pressure washing the apron in front of the garage. Most of the yellow flies met an untimely demise. Timely, in my opinion, though.

Always wanted to live in Cuba for the offshore fishing and rain. Maybe i will live to see it be free so we can go there.
Life might be a whole lot different than what you have been used to living in the USA. At one point I considered moving to Nicaragua. Until I looked at the details of living there. Just going grocery shopping there is an ordeal. No such thing as super markets. For each and every type of staple you want to buy, you have to go to a separate store to find. Plan on grocery shopping taking AT LEAST one complete day. Things we take for granted here are just not available, at any price, there. Thanks, but no thanks.

I traveled to several Western Pacific countries when I was in the Navy in the 70's. Beautiful places no doubt, but it made me appreciate the good ole US of A! I've had much more fun in the last 7 years travelling the 48 states with my wife as team truckers. I had already been to Alaska and Hawaii on the Navy's dime, and together we have been to every state but Vermont. And Bernie Sanders is from Vermont, so I figure I didn't miss anything! Do some travelling and see places you might like.
