Rockin' N Rollin' from Daytona Beach!

Mr. Blue

New member
Hi All. :welcome:
I'm Glenn, and I have an extremly wild 1966 vette roadster I call "Love Is Blue". I've owned it since new. Now don't go flamin' me over cutting up such a collector car. It's long ago lost it's value as anything close to original.
I quickly totaled it within 6 months of owning it back in '67. (I was fresh out of the Navy and only in my early 20's and owning a 427/450hp, 4 spd, 4:11, radio delet car. What did you expect?)
That was followed just a few months later by another total (new frames both times & front ends) but this one wasn't my fault as an old lady crossed the divided highway into my path at night after having a seizure at night.
Many years of drag racing (blown original motor, trans, rears, half shafts thru the deck lid, etc.) and I had a 'fun' car. I began customizing it since noone knew back then just how valuable the survivors would be.
No regrets, however, as I've had millions of dollars worth of fun with ol' Love over the years.
Anyway, just wanted to say "HI, Y'all" & thank JohnZ for inviting me over to the All Florida site. Nice to be kept up with what's of interest to me locally here in Fl.
I look forward to chating with all of you guys in the future, and meeting up in our vettes at someof the events upcoming... once I replace the pistons in my motor. Seems I broke two of them at the start of the Power Tour this year, so I just bought a whole new set of Keith Blacks to replace them SRPs.

See ya soon, Mr. Blue:thumbsup:

How bout some pics

I uploaded 16 photos into the area called MY Gallery, at least I thought I did. You might want to check my stuff and see where it went. It's here somewhere. I'm just learning this sites quirks. Have patience. Didn't anything come up on my profile? I see two photos there when I open it. Hope this helps, as I'm always glad to show off my labor of LOVE. Glenn:confused:

Hey Nytro...I'm a bit confused by your photo on your avitar. It's clearly a BB C2 (65-66) but you list a ZO6 as your ride. Do you have two or did you use to own the C2, or what?

Welcome to you and your radical Vette! That thing is wicked. :dancer01:

Here's a few of your pics...

First off, COOL RIDE GLENN. That car is very nice. Looks like lots of time and money spent on that baby. It must certainly be an A Ticket ride.

I do have two vettes, a 2001 Z06 and a 66 roadster. Had the Z since August of 2000, and the 66 since 1983.

D-HAM GLENN,

That's one bad a$$ ride you've got there. I LOVE IT! No wonder it's called LOVE.

Hopefully when you come over to the Tampa side you'll let me know what it's like to sit in a monster.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the awesome ride.

Holy Granola bars! That is one wild looking piece of machinery!

But seriously man, is that thing legal on the street with that major visual obstruction coming out of the hood????????

Hey SK, I've got a life long buddy, Larry Godbold, who lives in Tarpon Springs, just north of you. Give him a call sometime as he's got 3 C-3/4 vettes and would love to hook up with other vette people in the area. His cell is:727-224-5065. I've done a few shows over that way in the past, so I'd love to hook up with you next time ol' Love is on the west coast. In fact, Time Machines in Hudson about 20 miles further north on Rt.19 did the electric lifts on the hood and deck lid as well as a major part of the interior upholstery. You may have heard of them...they did the $425,000 Motion Camaro for Joel Rosen in this past year's SEMA show in Vegas. Thanks for the kind words, and yes, it IS an 'A' ticket ride! Glenn

Legal?

So far I've never been stopped by any officers anywhere in the US. I've driven the entire mid-west in 2004 with it on Power Tour, and then up and down the east coast visiting friends and returning home. I'm sure it could be sighted for obstruction by some hard ass cop if he wanted to flex his muscles, cause it IS a bit difficult making right turns in traffic, but so far none have. Part of that is that I seldom act up on the highway, and the locals here in Edgewater all know I use to be a sergeant in one of the local cities around here before becoming disabled on the job in '85.
I have been wanting to get one of the hybrid Magnacharger with the intake in the front to put all that stuff under the hood, but at $5,500 for just the blower, I can't afford to do it and I can't give away all that blown horsepower. I've become addicted to the raw acceleration it provides and could never go back to less, so I just keep on driving it like it is. In fact, I just lost two pistons in this motor (ring lands broke) and I'm currently replacing the set with Keith Blacks. It would be a perfect time to change it around, but being retired on disability, the income is fixed and limited, so I really can't afford to keep throwing more money at it any longer. What's an addict to do?:shrug01: Glenn

Well all I can say is that you are driving one HELL of a head turner! You may get cited for giving some guy whiplash when he snaps his head around for a second look as you drive by..... :lmao:

Thanks SK. I'm hopeing my vette will be back together for this one. Time will tell. Once again, thanks for the heads up. Glenn

I'M IN LOVE!!!! Not with you dude!! With that car:lmao:

Seriously man, that is one sweet ride. I love the front and rear views...how low it sits and has that I'm gonna eat yo' ass alive if you don't get outta my way look:thumbsup:

Can't wait to see it in person.

I was just in Daytona last week:(

Great Machine!

:welcome:
