School is open on good friday!

I wouldn't look for a protest. A lot of teachers and bus drivers have taken the day off for Good Friday, which was taken out of the school schedule several years ago. Instead, they get some sort of a floating holiday or some such nonsense.

A protest would be counter productive to thier cause.

The day off I think will get everyones attention much faster:thumbsup:

I meanded day off in protest. Ive got a migrane so Im typing goofy.

the day off just saved a days worth of tax money, and I remember leaving on good friday to make it on easter trips as a kid.

The girls had good friday off last year, Im sorry "spring holiday":yesnod:

lets see the teachers I know make 40000 a year and only work 9 months a year. They work 7 hours a day and have benifits, not a bad deal. Now they want another holiday that I dont get,now the bus drivers dont want to work and the daycare has informend me I should keep my kids home because they werent prepaired to handle kids all day.It just amazes me that county state and govt employees are raping the system and tell us what a great job they are doing.I know of city water dept workers that use company trucks and time to drive 20 miles home everyday for lunch, then use the trucks for personal use(moving furniture).

Don't even get me started with the Govt.

I am a contractor through the Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA), and provide services to individuals with disabilities through the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) and those two agencies are by far the most aggravating waste of money around........they are supposed to be working together for the sake of the client to ensure that they are receiving the care/services required, yet one hand doesn't have a clue as to what the other hand is doing. One agency will tell you, "sure you can just give the clients their money to use as they wish"(one of their rights) and then the other agency says "hmmmmm, I'm not sure you should just be giving them their money, maybe you should count and keep track of it on a monthly basis......WTF am I supposed to be doing again? Love my job, but hate having to deal with the bureaucracy and ineptness of individuals that work in the pink building in Wildwood or the big house in Tallahassee. Sorry should have gone to the Ranting room:hehehe:.

That money is spread out over the whole year, or they take it during the school year and get nothing for paychecks all summer. I'll tell you what,, 40k is not that much and DEFINETLY NOT enough for me to deal with those brats and their pain in the a$$ parents time and time again. I think they should get a raise for what they go through. The worst is the middle school to high school range. By then the damage is done and the teachers cannot change what the parents have messed up.

Thank goodness that there are people out ther who can do it for the small cash and no thanks, because I couldn't be a teacher.

:iagree:

Teachers are definately underpaid for the BS they have to put up with. And to top that off, they can't even defend themselves when some little s**tbag decides to go off on them:rolleyes:

I'd last about 3.5 seconds in a public school program....then I'd be bunkin' with bubba!

As far as the generalization of "government employees", although I'm not one to lump everyone in the same bunch, there's a lot of truth to what you wrote:thumbsup:

The city is whining and complaining about budget cuts, yet we have TPD officers using city vehicles to drive back and forthe to CRYSTAL RIVER/BROOKSVILLE/LASKELAND & MADERIA BEACH?

Why? (PBA contract that's why:rolleyes:).
The fuel cost, maintenance, tolls, etc, all come out of the city coffers:thumbsdown:

In times of financial distress, trade off's must be made. It's time to trim the fat and move forward:thumbsup:

Back to the school issue. Congrats to JAx School District for thier lack of political correctness:thumbsup::thumbsup:
