Sell or Trade-In car w/no cat converters

OK, i may have to unload my C5 fairly quickly in the next month or so...

As it sits, my car has a full exhaust; LT headers, x-pipe no-cats, and catback exhaust.

If put in the position to sell/trade the car do I need to put cats back on the car before i can trade her or sell her? Do i need to disclose that there are no cats on the car?

Chris

P.S. If i do get rid of the vette it will be replaced by the 4-door version :hehehe:

Chris, I traded in my 88 at a chevy dealer in clearwater, no cats, I did not say anything, they inspected the car 2 X , they didnt say anything or ask, I didnt either, no problem.

They dont put it up on the lift to check at most stealerships so not an issue.

Good Luck on what you get Chris!!

Tracy - If i sell, moving to a CTS-V, need the 4 doors and backseat

Thanks for the replies all!

When I traded in the Vette they didnt ask at the Ford dealer. When I got rid of the Shelby I had to sign a waiver saying that the emissions hasnt been modified. I was asked if cats were still on the car. When I told the salesman that I turned a vette in with basically dumps and they never asked or had me sign anything, he said they could get fined for that because I guess its becoming regulation where dealers cant sell a car without emissions being up to epa standards. That might explain why the ford dealer only sold the vette within 3 days.
