SNAKES ,,, a lack of them a good reason to live in NW Iowa.
I hate any kind of snake. I might have a hard time getting close enough to a snake to kill it without a 12 ga.
I don't know how you stand to live where you might meet a snake at any moment.
Scav.
:wavey:
But I still don't like the slimey critters!
That said, if they're harmless (like your racers or the garter snake) then screw it, I'd leave 'em alone.
Scavanger, never move to a swamp. And buy a wood house. Little suckers hear about it and run from miles away, and bring all sorts of friends. Most of Florida isn't as bad as it is where I live (ever been to Orlando?), just anywhere with water.
:hehehe:
First, they aren't slimey. Communist era propaganda right there. :hehehe: Second, if you think a black racer is harmless, then you've never been bitten by one. Which means you weren't stupid enough to mess with them.:hehehe:
Snakes' teeth are designed to simply hold onto their prey while they overpower it or constrict it.
I had a 3-4 foot black racer catch me between the thumb and finger once. Don't give me that blackberry bush ****!
:hehehe: Seriously though, that hurt like heck. That's the one snake I am no longer stupid enough to mess with. One gets in the vette, I'll sign over the title and throw him the keys.:hehehe:
I live where the gators roam. Corn snakes don't scare me, I had a pet one once. So I'd just confiscate yours likely. Mine got loose and into the attic. Slithered over some wires and fried himself...:nonod:
