Thanks to all for the kind words from this old warhorse.....
I don't believe that any veteran goes into the service EXPECTING to be thanked for
his/her service, but it sure is nice to hear it from people who don't hafta say it.:yesnod:

I agree. There were few kind words for us when I served in the 70's but that wasn't why we were there anyway. I will never regret having the opportunity to do my part. And would gladly do it again. I still think they should send us cranky old guys over there!

:lmao:I agree...no ROE, just attitude and ammo....this mess would be over in no time and it'd be Miller time (or Tea or ???):thumbsup::thumbsup:

And you're right, no one (that I know anyway) serves or served for recognition. Everyone I know did it for some other dumb ass reason, and mumbling all the way about, honor, loyalty, country and freedon.....:thumbsup:

Saw a post that said something like.......

Want the war in the middle east to be over?
Rustle you up a bunch of good old Southern Boys (and I use the term respectfuly-Andy)
Tell them it's open season on the Taliban (or other group)
Tell them there is NO BAG LIMIT
Tell them that you will replace all of the ammo that use
And tell them that they taste like chicken.

Problem should be solved in less than 3 days, and I'll volunteer to be one of them
