The 650 HP Vette

Word has it from a fellow member of the Cape Kennedy Corvette Club, of his acceptance in purchasing the ever secretive new Corvette on steroids...:hehehe:

The official, unofficial word, :hehehe: is this vehicle will be known as the -- ZR1 -- ! :yesnod: :crazy03:

Yep, from the sounds of it, the beast is back. Its reputed to have 650 HP as promised and will set this member back a whopping $99,900! He is hoping to receive a serial number lower than 10 since he was one of the very first to sign up for this car. He also mentioned only 1500 will be produced...for the year I would suppose. If I heard him right, the vehicle may be intercooled and turbo'ed.

Who knows really...:shrug01:...he was just accepted to receive one of these cars just last week as I understand it...I'm thinking his excitement may have caused a selective memory laspe...:hehehe:

Production I would also assume begins in March of '08 as with the rest of the 2009 model year that reportedly begins then.

More to come as I learn about this!

Would love to have one.....but not in the budget. We have a 1,000 RWHP twin turbo 2004 Z06 here for sale.

Yeah..... I'm thinking buying a C6 Z06 that people are going to be dumping to buy the *new* toy, and then sinking half the difference in price into performance mods may be a better ticket to play. :hehehe:

For that kind of money, I'd really need to see something more than just a LS7 with a supercharger or turbo charge slapped on it.

$100K is not chump change, at least not to me. I would have to sell a fair chunk of my gun collection to have that kind of play money to spend..... :D

FOR SALE:
Do you have any pics of it and what numbers are you looking at (Cost?).

Thanks:
JIm

If you go to the CF site it is in "my vette pictures" under my avatar. Ms Antivenom may post them here....I don't know how.

The customer has over $100k in the build (including the car) and drove it 1 weekend and realized it was way more car than he imangined. He will sell it for less than $70k, and only put 500 miles on it since the build.

Stop in the shop to see it in person.

Its my understanding the official designator to the upcoming 650 HP, Blue Devil :rolling: will be officially known as the ZR1!!

The engine will be a 6.2 LS-9 and supercharged.

The ZR1 made an appearance at the C6.R's race event at Laguna Seca. Driver Johnny O'Connell made two laps.
