The Rays are ALCS Champs

Yea lets start the debate over getting a new outdoor stadium now that the World Series has been rained out ........ NOT

And factor in the sudden rain showers that are sometimes a daily thing in FL and you have alot of steamed out wet angry fans... The humidity after one of those rain showers on a 95 degree day is as nasty as it gets. I will not go to any games where the temp is above 80 degrees if they build and move to an open air stadium. Alot of my friends are of the same opinion.

WTF are you talking about?:shrug01: The Marlins are going to build a retractable domed stadium.

Retractable dome stadiums doesn't make sense to me. It's too hot and muggy and I don't see the benefit of a retractable roof in Florida. It adds more cost and it won't be as cool and temperate as it is with a domed stadium.
Well the game is to resume sometime this week once the crappy weather goes away in their outdoor stadium!!!! I thought the momentum turned our way until they delayed the game after the top of the 6th. I feel for our team having to stay in Phildelphia for extended time. I would think that is to the Philly's advantage. Nothing like sleeping in your own bed and seeing your family and friends to decompress.
Go RAYS!!!!

They make perfect sense if you don't wanna go to astroturf and notice all the new stadiums have retractable roofs for that reason because astroturf causes too many injuries to the players.

Besides, who cares about hot and muggy when you just close the roof and turn on the A/C? That's what all the others do.

Oh well, the Cinderella story had to end tonight for the RAYS. Congrats to the Phillys. There is always next year!!!!:thumbsup:

Thats too bad they couldnt click like they did all year long. Make it to the bigs and then they choke.

But hey, who ever would have thought theyd make it to the world series? Congrats to both teams. . .

It just sucks because Hamels is thier only pitcher thats worth anything. . . From him it goes down hill. . . They got in the grind hitting against him and then the game is delayed. . .

Baseball is dead

It has sucked since 2004 when the Dead Sox swepted the Cardinals. All World Series since then have been sweeps except this one. 4-1 big deal.

What garbage!!!!!

WTF I'm talking about is the Tampa Bay Rays are trying to scrap their indoor stadium and build an open air stadium about a 1/2 mile away. They do not plan to put a roof on it, yet say they will blow cooled a/c air onto the stands..... (only the lower lever higher priced tickets I would assume). That's friggin retarded if you ask me, just leave the roof on and a/c it all you want. I will not enjoy sweating my arse off watching the games there and will stop going if that plan comes to fruition. Summer baseball up north is different than summer baseball in Florida.

The new stadium with a sail like retractable roof has been tabled for now. The Rays' organization saw that the public interest in this was lacking and consequently backed off on pushing for a new home. Amen to that!!!:thumbsup:

And my point exactly. WTF are you talking about?

I never said or mentioned anything about the Rays. I was making the comment that the World Series was suspended due to rain in Philly and they always criticize Joe Robbie Stadium because of rain delays. Joe Robbie Stadium is the home of the Marlins in Miami Gardens. What does it have to do with the Rays?!

Like Thor said, when they were considering building a new stadium for the Rays the plan was for a retractable roof stadium. I honestly don't see what's wrong with Tropicana Field.

Who brought the Marlins into it? The topic was the Ray's and Phillies! Sometimes I don't know where you come from besides out in left field.

No, it's coming from the mound. If you bothered to read the whole post you would understand.

The talk was about the horrible weather and retractable roof stadiums.

Ok OK. I started the thread and I'll end it and say thanks to all who followed the RAYS and there's always next year!!!!:thumbsup:
