To drive or not to drive!!!!!!!!

I was just wondering. How many of you drive your Vettes on a daily bases. My coworkers harass me and another guy about driving our Vette's everyday. They say they are garage queens and were not made for daily driving. Does that mean that you can't drive a BMW or a Porsche everyday?

Drive mine every day! So much more fun than my Aramada. After she's painted, I don't think I'll drive in the rain though.

Yup I didn't lock the doors last night and it started right up. I went to the GMC place to get my door lock switches and he comes out with the wiring harness. Lets see I don't think switch and harness rhyme. I have to wait for 3 to 4 weeks for the switches. I also got a new key made as well. It did seem just a little more solid going into the tumbler.

Those power door lock switches won't have anything to do with the car starting!!! Just locking and unlocking the doors!!! The switches on the back of the doors and one on the hatch only Control the Dome lights and Audible part of the alarm!!(When the lights go out Locked the alarm gets set!!)And then there is a switch on the left and right door tumblers that turn the Audible alarm on or off if you Lock it or unlock with a key!!! :thumbsup:PS If it Keeps starting,it was the worn Key!!!!(Wright down the resistance and keep it somewhere not in the Car,it may come in Handy some day!!)

Thank you Junkie!!!!!!!!!
I really appreciate you for giving me some knowlegable help on my car.

Everyday !!!!

I have two toys, the '74 Stingray:thumbsup: and a "52 Chev. Coupe:yesnod: . It all depends on how I feel (Rock Around the Clock or Saturday Night Fever) as to which one I drive that day, but one or both of them get driven every day, rain or shine. That's what toys were made for.:D

I have used the 'vette as a DD but with gas prices where they are I prefer to use my other car ('07 Aveo) so I can pay for regular instead of premium.

ok

Well I appreciate your honesty Mark. No shame there. I don't blame you. I would ride my crotch rocket had it not got stolen. :yesnod:

I used to drive the Vette at least twice a week when I took my son to his Kenpo classes, but now I have two of my boys in Kenpo, so I had to have something with three seatbelts. Now I just drive it to the store or just to ride, but not that often. Plus my A/C compressor locked up, so with the heat and humidity, it's often not my first choice.

Can't blame you there gotta have that A\C sometimes!

My wife has an Expedition and I am stuck with the Vette. :lmao:
I drive it whenever I go out but I do prefer not to drive it if I know it is going to rain. Not because the paint will melt but because it is a pain in the butt to keep the wheels clean.

My vett is a company car ,so I drive it four days a week.I learned a long time ago ,driving keeps the car running better than sittin'.If you have a c-4 /c-5/c-6. They probably will never be worth more than what they are today.Hydrogen /electric will be the fuel for the c-8's .Don't save 'em drive 'em but treat them with care and enjoy.

My 72 is not a daily driver but is out on the streets at least two or three times a week. Damn she's so pretty I can't keep her garaged all the time. Now that I'm retired she is under my butt frequently, BTW she'll be in Plant City Sat evening with 98 softtail should ya'll like to come look pretty with us.

Ken;) ;)

I try to drive mine as much as I can, but since I work here on the property, I really don't have to go out too much. Maybe go to the post office up in Tallahasssee once a week and maybe just cruise around one other day of the week. Only someone who has never driven one would claim a Corvette is made to be a garage queen....... :hehehe:

I have 3 ('06 and two '82's), so my choices are many to keep the mileage down. :hehehe:

My 'SO' drives the silver '82 pretty much on a daily basis. It just turned 56k so I'm not too worried about crankin' up the total.

The other '82 is a CE and just turned 46k original. That one gets driven about once a week, maybe every two weeks. That one kinda makes me keeps the miles toned down just a bit.

My '06? Just turned 13k...does that tell you I like drivin' that puppy?? Not daily, but man, do I pack it on when the weekend comes!:dancer01:

As far as the elements go, I do try my best to keep all 3 out of the rain. That is unavoidable if we're already at some type of Vette/Muscle car show.

And love bugs? Oh yea...as much as I can I avoid those days as well. The military needs to harness that species if they need to strip paint off equipment.:lmao:

Point being...yea, I run the Vettes within reason, but mostly for the rush!:rofl1:
