Tuning Day in Tampa Bay

thebeepster

truth seeker
Chuck @ Corvettes of Westchester has offered to fly in for a tuning day if we can get him a commitment of at least 10 tunes. Many of you who read CF may already be aware of Chuck's capabilities, reputation, and the many accolades he has earned in the Corvette world. So here's the deal Guys...

When: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Saturday in March

Where: Auto XTC, Clearwater, FL

Price: $365, refreshments will be served

Chuck's tune requires a 160 deg. thermostat. If you don't have one, Auto XTC can supply & install on site. The "tune in" is planned in conjunction with an open house @ Auto XTC who can furnish & install many other accesories or mods. Let me know ASAP if you are interested so we can make the final arrangements. Also, may be a perfect excuse for a party!:yesnod:

We already have 5 commitments, so all we need is an addional 5 or 6 of you who are willing to commit with a $50 non-refundable deposit. The tune can be paid for w/ Visa, MC, etc. thru Auto XTC.

I hear he is one of the best...to learn more go to: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/search.php?searchid=4217298 Ted G.

Sorry, the above link isn't working...don't know why. Computer challenged here. Go to www.corvetteforum.com and do a search under: Corvettes of Westchester. There are 7 pages of info, owner experiences, etc.:shrug01:

WOW, wish I needed a tune. If it's the 1st or 2nd weekend in march I'd certainly like to go hang out. The guys at autoXTC are a great group of fellow corvetters. Just for FYI, the 3rd Weekend in March is the 12 hours of Sebring. I hope most guys have their Vettes down in the corvette coral at sebring that weekend.

Funny but don't we have one of the best tuners in the country right here in Clearwater?

FRC TOM?

CHUCK COW

I AM INTERESTED BUT WON'T HAVE MY NEW C6 UNTIL 2ND OR 3RD WEEK IN MARCH NCM DELEVERY. LET ME KNOW WHEN DATE IS FIRM. MY TPW IS 2/19/07

OK, I sense a difference of opinion here...which is healthy. However, rather than attempting to hijack the thread, why not make a positive contribution by sharing that valuable infor w/ the rest of us??

Sorry I did not mean to hijack this thread. It just does not make sense to me to bring a guy from out of state when we have one here that is very knowledgeable in tuning Vettes. He has tuned for several different shops in the area, the most recent was at Antivenom.

He is an Administrator on the Z06Vette.com and is very well known there and around the country. He was the tuner of RichZ sts tt which Antivenom installed.

He is being flown to KC on the 21st then to Denver to culminate at the Z06 Winterfest in Phoenix AZ. March 1 - 3. Tuning is what he does and does it well. He tuned my C5R427 last year and has tuned my Z16.

He has the latest HP Tuners upgrades.

Just my 2 cents.

I did not mean to start a difference of opinion. I know Brad and Larry from Auto XTC, and they are great people. I am not trying to compare one tuner to another, I am just speaking from personal experience. If anyone isn't able to make this one day event............See you at the party:D

Sorry Again, it was not you it was me who started this.

AGAIN, no hijack intended...but I doing a good job at it:crazy03: :rofl1:

Thanx for that info!

My post was not intended to create a debate on who the best tuner is, but rather to determine interest in a tuning event by an individual who enjoys a great reputation in the Corvette world. There are several good tuners in the country, some of whom may be local but unknown to the rest of us.

If someone else wants to initiate a "tuning day" by one of the local guys, at a competitive price, I'll be the first to jump in!!:yesnod:

The last time I checked, the going price for a tune locally was $500-525. Here we have a guy with a national rep who is willing to pack his gear, hop on a plane and tune vettes for $365 a pop. Makes "perfect sense" to me...what "makes no sense" is that I don't hear any of the local tuners (who would not have the travel expense) offering up the same deal!!

Chuck from COW has an excellent rep, FRC Tom is also a very good tuner, you can rest assured either would be well worth using. We at RevXtreme in Tampa offer group specials for any group of 4 or more that will come on the same day for $350 each with wideband on a in-ground Dynajet in a climate controlled seperate dyno room. Also, our tuner is in-house, here 5 days a week.
