Unbelievable......buyer beware

I bought my '61 off Ebay from a fella in S.C.; sent the deposit and then flew up to Columbia. Seller was a great guy, met his family, saw his farm and went completely over the car (including a hairy test drive). Its the only way I would have spent the kind of money I did.

So when the transporter delivered the car it was what I expected. I DID have some issues at first, such as the throttle sticking wide open on the highway (very exciting) and the old oil filter canister blowing the O-ring and losing 3 guarts of oil (but I stopped the car right away!).

Anyway, it'll be at Anti-Venom in a couple of weeks for some tweaking !

Now it is time to tell the latest chapter in this man's story. The seller picked up the car last night and paid all expenses. After the car was picked up, he left his newest prize for me to check out. Totally out of the area of what he was looking for. 1995 6 speed black on black coupe. Super nice car, and for the price of $6,000.00 I told him right away, that if he didn't like it, I would give him that money for it. Nice car that only needs the typical items for that year. So he fell into a pile of crap and came out smelling like a rose. BTW, he bought this car locally. No more internet buying for him!

Now he is the crook, He stole this 95

It IS perfect, Sorry about my pictures, Its a new camera and I havent figured out the settings yet so they are dark!

BTW the mop and bucket in the first photo was there because I had to mop all of the fluids from that 69 every hour:eek: :lmao:

The intention of this post is first for me to spout off, second to simply say, if you want to buy a car long distance, PLEASE buy a plane ticket and see the car first! Then drive it. If its local just ask me to inspect I have no problem with that.

Well, behind every dark cloud there is a silver lining. After a week of back and forth communication, the seller has agreed to a refund! And will pay return shipping. So, for all of this, he only has a small hurt, the shipping from California Not much more than that plane ticket that he should have bought. So......now, I have agreed to help him find a LOCAL car to buy! This way I can approve of what he wants to buy. Anybody know of a nice 69 corvette for sale within 150 miles of Tampa? He wants a 69-72 he would like to exclude the 68's from the search due to the difference in door handles. Big block, small block, auto, stick, whatever. BUT it must have BRAKES, and run decent.:rofl1:
I have a 69 cp,It's decent but it needs work,it's sat in a garage for 18 years!! I've had it for 9 months and I'm just now getting the time to start work on it!!Don't really want to but I would sell it!! 300/350 3 sp 63,000 miles Matching # 1 of 252 built. A man spend $8-$10,000 (Hobby Project allot less!!) on it and it would be purdy damned NICE!! Thats my plans!!

Cool, Somebody that actually cares about corvettes selling them! novel Idea:rofl1:

The 69 that was here, was made to look good in pictures and from 20feet or more away, The one in the photos seems allot more sound and less paint on cracks then that one.
