I reflect on this photograph, I see once again that not all the brave leave the 'home of the brave' to enter battle;

some are required now to be the brave of the home

It is said a picture is worth a thousand words but it leaves me speechless and tears in my eyes. ATT00001.jpg

We have a long list of good friends whose husbands are deploying

to Iraq next month. One of the wives sent me this. We feel compelled

to send it on. Your prayers are deeply appreciated. These guys

deserve our love, our hugs and most powerfully, our prayers.

Prayer Request:

I understand that life in Iraq is very difficult to bear right now. Our troops need our prayers for strength, endurance and safety.

'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need... Amen.'

When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops around the world.

There's nothing attached; just send this to all in your address book. Do not let it stop with you, please -- of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very best!!!

When I go to breakfast in the mornin' Tammy is the waitress.Tammy has two young children and her husband is in Iraq till next spring.

When I get to work Bill in quality control is always in early .I stop at least once a week to ask hows your son doin'.Bill's son knocks on doors in Baghdad and is doing his second tour of duty.

I don't burden myself in sadness or dwell on the past but I do think of my uncle who died in WWII Germany leaving two young sons. And I do think about Larry (my age) my next door neighbor and how heart broken his dad was when Larry didn't come home from Viet Nam.

Bless all our veterans and young people in harms way.

Done with pride

Amen...

And Sandman, thanks for your service as well.

A former coastie...

Thank You Shadow it was truly an Honor to my country to serve the great Americans that live here and abroad. Heck you know why they call me sandman? I spent most of my time in the middle east! Tell me that isn't:2232censored:ed up. But it was still an honor.:yesnod::thankyou2:

AMEN. And may God bless each and everyone of our BRAVE Men and Women protecting our freedom and way of life. I can not say enough except to say "THANK YOU" every time I see one of our HEROs in the airport, mall or just walking down the street.

I have a niece who's husband has served in Afganistan and is now going to Iraq. May God protect him and bring him home safe.

My prayers and thoughts are with them all. It’s a crazy world out there and I just wanted to thank all the ones who make it safe here to live in America.

Thanks:usa_flag:

My prayers are with the Troops

"Sandman"

Thank you for sharing that with us. This is what CorvetteFlorida is all about......... "people".

Corvettes are replaceable, but lost lives are not.

As a Viet Nam Vet, I fully understand (USAF 10 years).

Thanks again,

Jim

Amen Brothers. Let us never forget that we live in the land of the free, because of the brave!

im in mass right now. we buried my great grandfather today. he was in a tank division in WW2. he never spoke of it and we can only imagine the wartime cruelties that he endured/saw. today he would have turned 98. he beat the first corvette off the line by over 40 years and a few horses. just had to throw my o2's in this evening. been a bit emotional, but all is well. huge irish family, huge irish wake. cheers jeers and beers.

ps

ive never used one of the face things on the right side of the screen but if there was one not so happy or showing respect id add it in here. ive been fortunate enough that i have not been to a funeral for as long as i can remember. i hope everyones friends and families are well and know of your care. im not one to speak of emotion but i was fortunate to tell my great grandfather i love him and he was a pillar in our lives. it was a long day today, and will be a long one tomorrow. cheers

Toy Soldier

Just a little toy soldier,
forced to fight,

told to kill,
cold at nights.

You eat so little,
you've been on a run.

You have a family that loves you waiting at home
Though, you continue to fight,

you fight for me.
With a tear in your eye,

You're there for your country.
You're so strong you've been through so much

surrounded by the bodies of whom you may love.
You might not agree with why you are there

you still fight, though it's not fair
With confidence you hold your head high,

for your a proud soldier with so much pride!

God Bless you all and may your higher power keep you safe and warm.

A Soldier's Prayer

It's time to sleep
I've been relieved

My rifle at my side
My knife in it's sheath

Lord let me live another day
As I put myself in harms way

I made my choice, I took the oath
I stand for freedom, but I don't boast

My God, my country, my family
The things I hold so dear

With these all on my side
There's nothing for me to fear

But if I should fall before my next relief
I will stand before you Lord with honor and dignity

So, while I'm here please make me strong
To fight the battles and right what's wrong

God Bless America
