"Vettes" at the Light Corvette Show

I received my packet the other day. Hoping to get over there mid to late Friday afternoon. It will depend on how busy the wife is at her office. If not will arrive early Sat.

Up-date on the Daytona wild-fires... Our Prayers go out to all that have received damage, or are being threatened by these wild-fires ...

Fortunately, it was another blue sky, drop dead gorgeous day in Ponce Inlet.

I will keep the website posted if we anticipate any wild-fire problems...

50 Homes LOST!!

As of 11PM tonight, there have been 50 homes lost in the Brevard area. I 95, US-1 and Rt 60 are closed, but by this weekend the great guys of the many fire departments working it, will have it cleared so those of you coming from the south can get to Ponce Inlet.
Just keep those who have lost everything in your prayers. Glenn
 
Damn.... May is pretty much fire season in Florida. And it's been pretty dry in this area. We were supposed to have rain this past Sunday, but darn if I saw a drop. And yet the yahoos will still throw lit cigarettes out the window while driving down the road...... :ack2:

And we are under a red flag warning and it's against the law to do so, yet cops fail to enforce it because "it' such a petti law to enforce!". Yeah, tell that to the ones who loose their homes and pets!:banghead::mad:
 
Heard that I-95 was closed yesterday...Hope everything is ok by Friday...Will be coming from south...Prayers go out to all affected by this...
 
Ponce Inlet Caravan...From Cocoa Florida

Ok all you fellow Vetter's!!! Here's another excuse for a caravan!

There will be a caravan for the Ponce Inlet show (Vettes at the Light) that will leave at 7.30 am, Saturday, the 17th, from the Cocoa Econo Lodge (hotel) parking lot. The hotel is at the intersection of Route 1 and State Route 528 (also known as the Beachline Expressway). :dancer01:

I'm assuming we'll be cruising up Route 1...which in of itself a very nice cruising highway. :thumbsup:

After show food and drinks......

Down the Hatch is inviting everyone to come over to their restaurant after the show.....Their giving us a 10% discount flyer, and 1 free drink coupon for each car registered ..... Look for the coupon and flyer in your "goodybag" stuff.....

Down the Hatch is located about 2 blocks from the show, on the river...

Most are being contained, or at least getting to the point of being controlled...low winds are a huge helping hand.:yesnod:

Arson suspect caught as well. :NoNo:

Thats the report for today, the 14th...all this could change on a moments, or daily, notice...to include the Light show Saturday being affected. One good day today does not guarantee the weekend. Stay alert!:wavey:

I'm planning on going (registered, etc) but still not 100% that I'm going to be able to make it:(

Just wanted to know if anyone else from here was going and when you were leaving?
 
Looking Good for tomorrow!

The fires are MOSTLY contained, I-95 is open and only a slight chance (less than 20%) of light sprinkles if anything at all, Friday evening & Saturday AM. The rest of the day is going to be perfect!

For those interested, I got the first shipment of the Russian magazines with my Vette on the cover and featured inside. If anyone wants to buy one tomorrow, I'll have them with me, of course.

The grand daughter's sick (vomiting all night and day) and I think she gave whatever she has to me!:mad:

Ton's of work that needs to be finihed anyway, so I'll probably just cross the bridge in the early AM to Cars & Coffee @ DUpont then come home and back to work:(

Hi Gals and Guys,

Just got home from the park .. putting some finishing touches... Everything looks good .. it was a gorgeous night at the park with the light from the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. Lots of folks there taking photos...

Sorry Shadow can't make it .... his goodybag will go in the mail to him probably by Wednesday .... The Lighthouse and Marine Science Center tickets have no expiration date, so they can be used anytime....
Hope that "granbaby" gets better real soon ....

Thanks Harvey. As I said on the phone, if there's a family present that can use the extra tickets, feel free to give them to them with my best wishes.

If they show up in the goody bag, then it's just another reason to load up the vette and my travellin' companion (Victoria) and head over there one day:thumbsup:

Great Job, Harvey!

Just wanted to say what a great job Harvey, and the rest of PICC did this afternoon at their show. Easy in, easy out and fun all day long.
