I am writing today’s post is for two reasons:
The first is to let you know that I have VIP football and baseball tickets available. The proceeds from the sale of these tickets will be presented to the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association ~ Respite Care Services.
I will be doing this at the Steak-Out May 9th.
Steak-Out has always been a charity food & funds raiser to benefit the RCS Food Bank. However, this year and going forward, we have added FGCCAA ~ Respite Care Services as a recipient.
My wife Betsy, and I have been supporting RCS with food drives for over 10 years because very simply, when we donate a bag of beans, a family gets to eat.
After my father died from Alzheimer’s and my mother nearly died of a Caregiver’s Breakdown, we added Respite Care Services. We found that, when money is donated to FGCCAA and designated to go to Respite Care Services, 100% of it goes to help pay for someone to care for an Alzheimer’s patient while the Caregiver gets a much needed break. Nothing goes to administrative costs!
Through Steak-Out last year, we delivered over 2,700 pounds of food to RCS and so far this year, we have donated nearly $1,500 to Respite Care Services.
Our goals for this year's Steak-Out is to present RCS with +/- 4,000 pounds of food and to present Respite Care Services with a check for an additional +/- $1,500.
This brings me to the second reason for this post. If you haven’t seen the threads in the Corvettes Anonymous forum, I would like to invite to be with us on the 9th. I’m sure you will have a great time.
If you cannot make it, but would like to still play a role in our success, there is a donation button on the events page of the Corvettes Anonymous website. 100% of your donation will go to Respite Care Services.
You may or may not be interested in any of the football or baseball tickets, but I also thought that they may be great “Thank You” awards for some of your employees. I also thought that you may know of someone who would enjoy the games, so by all means, please feel free to forward this email as you see fit.
