Weather forecasts

It's been many years since I saw that much snow! Yeah, makes me wanna make a snowball! My kids would love it, they never saw more that a few inches.
Rich, we did get marble size hail last week. It was the closest thing we have to snow....I should have taken pictures.

We didn't have any hail around my place, as far as I know. Must have been spotty.

Looks like the final tally is 20 inches! Seems like everytime I got the driveway
cleaned, the plow would come down the street and leave me a deposit in the
just cleaned driveway of about 20 to 24 inches. My poor snow blower is about
ready to hand me it's resignation! :D Supposed to be in the mid to upper 40's
the next couple of days, so I'm hoping that a bunch of the darn stuff melts.
Lots of high winds kept most of the snow off of the roof which I'm glad about...
I can't remember feeling this beat EVER! Manhandling the blower really takes it
out of you!
Andy :wavey:

I wonder what your neighbors would have thought had you used a flame thrower to just MELT all the snow? :hehehe:

Yeah man, but you need to have that engine facing to the FRONT so it can melt the snow and ice off of the road in front of you! :hehehe:

Sheesh.... Now they are calling for lows in the low 30s early this upcoming week. Man, it's the end of MARCH, already! Winter should be over and done with in Florida.

Somebody needs to shoot that danged groundhog up in Pennsylvania. Either that or give him a job on the weather channel.

This is the way March should be, back in the 80's and 90's March was about the coldest month with windy weather.

We had a flat, warm Oct thru late Feb, but now the upper level pattern has changed. We just got winter in March this year.

:dancer01: I'm hoping it stays cool as long as possible, the summers are getting harder and longer every year.
Probably cooler up " north " where you are Rich.

Yeah, this is kind of the northern tundra part of Florida. But on the bright side, there are some fruit trees that should do better here with some chill hours to set the fruit. Any way I look at it, it's still a hell of a lot better than living in Maryland.

Yeah, only got to 82.4 here. High tomorrow is only supposed to get up to 64, and the low now predicted to be 36 degrees. Tuesday night they are calling for 33 degrees, and Wednesday a low of 31. :crazy03:

We had a high of 55 on the 26th and 58 today. We had spring for winter and now winter for spring. God only knows what summer will bring.

Last night when I went to bed, they were predicting a low of 39 overnight tonight. Then when I got up this morning, they were predicting a low of 31. Now they are predicting a low of 35. And that was in less than a 24 hour span.

So seriously, what is a 10 day forecast worth to anyone? It is completely meaningless.

Anything past 3 days out is a waste. They did a better job back in the 70's.

Well, I guess it's to be expected that the weather service can't get their forecasts right lately. Heck, if they can't get the weather radar to be accurate, what else would you expect?

I was watching the radar today and noticed what looked like a pretty strong storm coming, so I put out some tubs to catch some rainwater for my insectivorous plants. Even heard thunder off on the distance. So I saw the bands move right over top of me, and figured that I was getting some good rain for the tubs to collect. But I looked outside and see nothing but sunshine.

Seriously......... I even captured the radar screen shown below, showing where I am located via the blue "X". We didn't get a drop of rain. :banghead:

It's same for my area. The radar is off so many times. Been a week since last Sunday since i had a drop of rain.

Heck, it's pretty much impossible to make plans even a day in advance where the weather will affect those plans. The weather service could just very well just state that every day there will be a 50 percent chance of rain (effectively saying "just flip a coin, that's what we do"), and be done with it
