• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

*Please note*

I kinda screwed the pooch trying to merge the posts:rolleyes:Head and hands not playing well together today!

Anyway, I quoted your well wishes and your screen names. If you want to post something else, please feel free....sorry 'bout that chief!

Decided it might be nice to open a new thread where anyone that wants could post their wellwishes and welcome homes to John.:thumbsup:
Previous post have been moved here and there's a redirect on that thread.
I'm going to release the sticky on the old one and make this one a sticky for a while.
Thanks,
Gordon

Although some already knew, as requested by John and his wife, I have held the following information confidential until "authorized" for release.

In compliance with those wishes...the good news...

As of 1445 hrs this date, (Saturday 02 August 08), after eleven (11) months, some 250 combat patrols and quite an adventure in the sandbox, John arrived back at Tampa International Airport and to the loving arms of his wife and son.

I was there with them to greet him, make sure things went well and take some pictures for thier scrapbook.
I'll have to get them scanned in, but I will and will have them posted ASAP.

As it should be, he received an escort from two (2) CBP (Customs) officers through the airport and to baggage claim.

It was heartwarming at one point when a gentleman, probably in his late 30's or early 40's, came up, excused himself, extended his hand and said, I was sitting behind you on the plane and I just wanted to say "thank you" for what you're doing

Then, without further fanfare or commentary, as quickly dissapeared.

We got his bags, got him and the family safely into the limo, and he was headed home....

It's now that his wife has said it is ok to let everyone know he's back.

I'm almost positive he'll be back at Andreh's (Insty Tune & Lube) next Saturday if anyone would like to stop by.

Also, if you'd like to offer your wellwishes, thank you's or congratulations on a job well done, please feel free to post them here.

So...
