What's with the GPS ?

LEJ ZO6

LEJ ZO6
Don't get me wrong, I love the ZO6.

BUT ...

I paid $3045+ for the 2LZ package including a 6 disc CD changer.
Then I paid an additional $1750 for a package to get the factory GPS just so it was built in and not added on like an after market unit. This package deletes the 6 disc CD changer. I knew that when I ordered the car configured this way and that's OK.

BUT ... the factory GPS sucks when compared to the $300 Garmin I have in my other car.

Boy, I deserve every penny of the discount I received on the ZO6 just to put up with this crummy GPS!

What a RIP!

I bought a Garmin just because I didn't want something setting there that was outdated in a year.

That said my Garmin sent me around the Orlando airport three times last week . Finialy got it right

Heck, I've been using DeLorme Street Atlas on a laptop with a GPS antenna for years now. Best thing since sliced bread. I like a NICE big screen to look at maps on........ Comparatively speaking, of course. My laptop is a pretty small one with only a 12 inch screen. We NEVER go off the beaten path without it.

Well lets see.....First an early C3 did come with GPS (it's called my wifey) but I'd be down right Pizzed if I paid what you paid with the results you got.

I think I'll just move my TomTom from vehicle to vehicle as needed and be pleased as punch.

Unfortunately once again GM has shined.

:yesnod:Agreed...The factory NAV is definitely a p.o.s. I don"t even use it anymore! Unfortunately, the built in unit was one of the main reasons I upgraded to a C6 from the C5. There are now several superior aftermarket systems that can be integrated into the dash to appear as a factory installed unit. I would advise anyone buying a new vette to skip the factory unit and go the aftermarket route....:yesnod:

I AGREE. The voice recognition is a POS.

I'm with Rich. All those dedicated GPS units pale compared to a laptop. I use MS Streets & Trips instad of DeLorme but same diff. The factory units are a joke. LEJ Z06, sorry bud, joke's on you. :D

Sounds familiar, I have a 07 Lexus with a built in GPS and it also
is not as good as the $300 Garmin I use in my 02 Corvette.

Only complaint I have regarding my factory Nav unit is that the passenger should be able to operate it while under way...
