• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

When will I learn?

I don't have a problem with a new car entering. But unless it's been modded, or it's in a "New Car" class, I don't think they should necessarily win over an older ride that has been taken care of.

But if it is a PEOPLE'S CHOICE, and the PEOPLE choose the newer car, well, what exactly is unfair about that? That was THEIR choice.....

It's just my opinion.

It's a car show, and anyone who fits the bill, should have the right to enter. And peoples taste certainly can not be accounted for:lmao:

But IMHO-if we're going to have off the showroom, stock new cars, they should have thier own category! There's no way, a car that's actually driven and has been for over a year, is going to look or smell as fresh as a showroom stocker right off the floor.

If the "people" want to pick a stocker off the showroom as a thier winner, then so be it. Like I said, there's no accounting for taste.
I think my statement was geared more toward a judged show.

Certainly agree with Shadow. I use to have a Superbird. Almost every local show that I entered, my car and a friend's 68 Hemi Coronet R/T won first and second in our Mopar category. Sometimes I was first, sometimes he was. Anyway, if someone,at the time, had brought out a new K-Car and it won the Mopar category, I would have been frustrated.

I actually stopped at the Ford dealer yesterday just to admire a GT500 they had on the lot. Should have brought one of my old trophies for them. I'm just glad it was that greyish blue color with no stripes or I might have brought it home. I do like those things.
