You wouldn't believe the garbage I had to go through with these people.

I think the best bet is to find your baby from a private seller.

That is what I am hoping for!!!!!!!!!

I believe it is just that good help is hard to get in any field.

A while back Connie and I were looking at a C5 on a used car lot. A salesman came out and told us he didn't know anything at all about those cars. So I just looked at him and said "So why did you come out here, then?"

And we left.

Yeah, these folks are about selling cars and not "corvettes."

You ask them if they have the tank sticker. They say, "Huh, you mean the sticker that says unleaded gas only?"

You ask them if the engine is numbers matching?
They say yeah there are numbers on it.

You ask them if there is a trim tag on the car?
They say, yeah we trimmed the tags. Nothing hanging off this car boss.

You ask them if the fiber optics is working?
They tell you if you eat a lot of cereal it would be good for your eyes.

These folks are such a pain in the arse. I see what looks like a half way decent car and they know nothing about it except what they will sell it to you for. Idiots.

If you know anyone who has a C3 Big Block or LT-1 convertible send them my way. I like to talk to them. Thanks!

When buying a vette or any performance vehicle, you better know what your looking for and looking at. DO your own research and history on the car.

Private sellers can and will hide stuff. Car lots will too and sometimes just don't know any better.

New cars...well.....just bend over......:rofl1:

I've went to a Carmax, may have been Autonation somes years back and test drove a 96 LT-4. It was that Dark Purple Metallic Color.
Dealer insisted it was called "Hawaiian Orchid"
He also had no idea about corvettes especially this one.

I think the key to getting what you pay for is getting one that has a tank sticker. Then you know pretty much for certain what the car was originally. They could have done anything to it over the years.

Yes that is fact, but my education was with corvettes when it came to the folks you speak about.

Of course they don't know what a tank sticker is and could care less. They certainly are not going to disassemble every car that comes into their inventory to see if it a numbers matching car or has a tank sticker. They are Salesmen not Automotive Geniuses. It is up to the individual to find out this trivia. Buyer beware!

Actually I would agree with you IF they did not volunteer information they know nothing about. I am on a search and some of these places had given information about the vehicles they sell which was incorrect. I do not cut anyone slack if they give me misinformation. End of story.

I'm on a rant in this seem like the place to do it in!!!!!
