WHY THE CORVETTE FORUM SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!

Now you guys have me curious. What does it cost to become a Supporting Vendor over on CF?

I never got a price on CF. But smokinvette.com was $2500.00 every 6 months and that was a great deal so I was told by the owner of the site. Most vendors pay Over $8000.00 a year just to answer questions and may be sell a part or two.

:eek::eek: I must not be living right. It's like pulling teeth just to find advertisers willing to shell out $1 per DAY here for banner ads.....

Suddenly, I feel SOOOO inferior...... :itsok:

I was wondering why you guys wouldn't just whip out your credit card to solve the problem..........

I was given a figure of 24k to advertise for a year at CF. I don't know that for sure, just a word of mouth thing.

I was once informed by an admin over there that whatever the price, it was worth it for the opportunity to reach that many people at one time...wow!

Of course this was in the steering committee room (supporting members and such only) while discussing the "merits" of pop up ads that directly completed with the paid vendors sales:lmao::lmao:

I think our quote was $1200/month !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didnt think it was worth it at all, you have like 200 other business' advertising there, what are the chances of yours sticking out??

I told Chris we need to find another site to advertise on.

Well the $1200/ month was for a 60x120 link to your website!!! :ack2:

and it just went astronomically from there!!!

 That is $2.8 million buckaroos per year!!!!! No wonder they have so many moderators there. They must pay them very well. What a dream job. Get to talk about corvettes, boss people around, get name recognition, and be paid for it on top of all that. Where do I sign up???

Mods do not get paid :nonod:

dont know anything about that yet; however, i do know of one member who has posted several things that lives in my hometown---he does not know me!!!

Man, I'm glad it's not just me, then. I thought the old brain had finally given up and gone south early for the Winter..... :hehehe:

I wanted to get smokinvette in on a sale we were doing and I got a phone call from the owner, stating they want $260 a month to be a vendor there.

On a site with NO TRAFFIC! I literally laughed at him. More expensive than CF.

CF gets 240 a month with no banner.

Pretty much all IB sites are 240 a month to be a vendor, you do get a discount if you are a vendor on 5 IB sites.

The only IB site I know thats different is 3rdgen.org..... where they want $500 a month!

And CF sucks cause of the nazi mods.

Rich, if I can make a couple sales here since you were so generous in letting me post for sale things here, I will look into being a vendor here for sure.

Honestly, I don't see how it's worth it for vendors on some of the sites out there. They pay a monthly fee, on top of which, they usually give a discounted price (to members) and sometimes pay for shipping.
Ntm, most vendors just post an add and don't mingle on the boards much:shrug01:.Typically, the only time you see them, is when they're trying to sell something.:NoNo:

IMO...If I were a vendor on a site. You'd see my name, avatar etc EVERYWHERE, on as many threads as possible.
It would become a name members would remember, because it was put out there throughout the day, every day.
Ntm, people would get to know you via your posts, and may want to buy from you for no other reason but that.

If I'm paying those kind of fees, I'm not going to rely on just my banner to bring in business.:NoNo:
