Ya I got a new key and thought that had fixed it but friday afternoon I used it and the vette didn't start. It would crank but not start. I waited About 2 hours and took a taxi back to work and it fired right up.
 
Well the next thing I would check is the wiring harness. The engine electrical harness may be rubbed through by the mounting clamp just below the oil pressure sensor. The conduit covering the harness may be positioned so that the tab on the clamp can enter the harness through the slit, allowing the clamp to contact the wires, which are then rubbed through with the normal movement of the engine. With a little rain there is a possibility that you are getting some moisture there (it's toward the back of the engine) and that is causing a short.

I looked and couldn't find a short. It has started everyday since it's last hiccup on friday. The only thing I am doing different now is I am turning everything off before I shut the engine off. One guy was telling me it was my battery. I don't know what that would have to do with it. I can't explain it. But it has been starting great since friday.

Well I have been not manually locking my doors. I have 2 switches on order and have been manually locking my doors with the keys. I read my shop manual and if I am not mistaken, that it said if you manually lock your doors from the inside it will not set you r security alarm. Well I found that not to be true. I have had my vette start everytime I just use the key to lock the doors. When I lock them from inside the fuel pumps are locked out. I don't know if the manual is wrong or if My security alarm is just the only vette that the factory screwed up on. Anyone ever had this problem?

Well I have been not locking my doors and my vette has been starting. Yesterday I went to start her up and Nothing but cranking. This morning at 3:30 a.m. I went out to see if it would start and nothing. So being my only transportation I took my 3 mile walk to the Naval base. I am completely dumb founded. I don't know where to go from here. I have checked and rechecked everything. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Please any help would be a blessing.

Well I am at the point of no return I am taking my vette to the dealer. I have not been able to find my starting problem. Thanks to all that tried and gave me advice. I did learn a lot. Talk to you soon. I will update when I know what the problem was.:banghead: :reddevil:

If the Tumbler contacts are Bad,You can put 10 new keys in it and it will still do it!!!:thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Well I attemted taht but The only wires I could find was one that is attached at the ceter of the knee panel and it had about 8 or more wires going to it.

You will probly have to take the Panel off to find it,It's There!!

Back from the dealer

Well after spending 100 bucks at the dealer the guy that worked on my vette said he would need to change the ignition module and the coil. Now guess how much he was going to charge me....$600 smacks. I told them box my car up and I will pick it up. Heck you can get parts for under 100. Junkie do you think that this could be my problem. Can your ignition be intermittent?:banghead:

Yeah it can,but I would think it would act a little different than it dose! :thumbsup: A ignition module don't give a rat's azz when it decides to quit working and I would think it would have left you by the Highway a time or 2 by now,not in a parking lot!!:banghead: :banghead: Yours dose it the same way every time and a Ignition Module won't act that way,I still think you have a VATS problem I've pulled most of my hair out over VATS!!!! :eek: :eek: I was planning on being down there this week but got side tracked,I'd stop and fixed that thing if it Killed Me!!! :thumbsup: :thumbsup: PS I'll let you know when my new plans are!!:crazy03: :crazy03: :thumbsup:
