Would trade even up??

Well I was thinking about my Y2K and it's real-on the block-value
which is probably alittle over $15,000 and I have $30,000 worth
of mod's. I still really love this car and it's value is much more than
wholesale. Still I thought would I trade even up for a stripped down
brand new, right from the factory C-6????
No, in fact I wouldn't trade even up for a new ZO-6. I have more
horsepower and I have a auto.( The new GS has even less hp but
a auto). Like a said I like this vette alot and it has my "stamp" on
it ---------it's not stock.
So........The question I have for YOU is : if you could trade your
present vette for a brand new strip-down C-6 -----would you do
it. ( I guess strip-down ones ( the basic ) C-6 are going for $45k).
Thanks for your interest.

I would not trade my GS for a stripped down base C6. I would probably trade the 95. Even though both would be financially in my favor, I just don't get too excited looking at a base model C6. C6 Z, yes.

Although I no longer have my vette, I know what the answer would have been.

Although I really enjoyed my car, I'd have swapped the 87 in a New Yawk Second for a stripped down C6:lmao:

Stripped down just means I have more room to mod:thumbsup:

You coudn't trade even for a New Z06 anyway...not even close in price...No dealer would even talk about even trade on that...Especially trading heavy modded vettes...It doesn't matter how much HP you have...:nonod:

But that wasn't his question.

He asked "IF" you could...and the Z06 wasn't even in the equation.

So, "if" you were in that position and "if" the offer were to come up, would you?

Not for a strip down C6:nonod::thumbsdown: For a C6 Z06 Hell Yeah :thumbsup:that's factory HP and Handling:thumbsup::thumbsup:

In the same position having his car, hmmm, not sure if i would want to lose that much money...I would probably keep what I had...:yesnod:

Sorry. I guess my writing skills are poor. I was only asking hypothetically.
I was not talking about me I am not interested in any newer vettes.
I used a C-6 stripped because I know that there is alot of ZO-6
envy in the community.

Post your time slips...:toetap05:

uh oh...here we go again..

(Old Kennel Ration theme on)
My d**ks bigger than your d**k,
My d**ks bigger than yours.
My d**ks bigger 'cause it's a (insert your car),
my d**ks bigger than yours:lmao::lmao:

Posts away ladies...lets see the facts:thumbsup:

This ought to get good...:coffee1:

Well of course a highly modified C6 can beat a stock Z06. That's like comparing apples to oranges. But will a highly modified C6 beat a similarly modified Z06?

And when the dust has settled, what exactly has been proven after the race?

I guess it really depends?

If you bought your striped C6 for say, 40k (+/-), did the aforementioned mods, you might have another what, 15-20k into it?

Body mods will run you another 5-10k with paint and body work.

So for 60-70k, you've got a car that will outrun the Z, AND have a top that comes off (or drops down, which ever).

I happen to like the styling of the Z06:thumbsup:but not the fixed roof:thumbsdown:

So...I can now take that 70-80k Z (depending on the purchase date, location, yada yada yada), do the aftermarket top mod for another 10-15k, and "for only" 80-95k, have a car that will simply keep up with the C6 and still be able to enjoy the open air:rolleyes:

Will it be a "real" Z?

Of course not. If it means that much to you, save your pennies and go buy the real deal;)

Will you get your money out of either one of them at resale?

Probably not, especially with the current market trends:(

My opinion on the matter (for whatever that's worth?)

Buy what you like or can afford, mod it as you see fit and have the $$$ to do so, and enjoy it and life.....neither will likely last all that long......

A true philosopher.

Vettes werent made for 1/4 imo, the aerodynamics were made for something else.

As the dust settles Ive spent about the price of a stock Z06...yet Im surpassing it. Thats whats been accomplished.

With my power setup Ive seen slips on the big forums of people with an A6 running low 10s. Stock Z is in the 11s. Never said I didnt like them, nor do I go out hunting for them, Im not about racing fellow vette owners doesnt go well with the "brotherhood" of owning them. For me to buy a Z and convert it to auto would have been way more expensive then my current setup. When it comes to power, I look at cost per hp. And if you become an ass about me having to drive a auto...Id hate to bring out the pics.

:iagree: I bought one specific year and model because that is what I like. I wouldn't trade for anything well maybe cash but that is another debate.

Life is short you'll never get out alive so do what makes you happy.

And the Commemorative Edition is a fine choice indeed!
