Yea, I know what you mean Ken. This is another reason why I am trying to keep mine as close to original as possible. Last winter I purchased original matching smog equipment and put it on my car. I have owned my 69 since 89 and the smog was gone long before I bought the car. I was surprised after putting it on, I cannot feel any difference on the road. Now I am sure if I dyno'd before and after I would see some HP degradation. But when you look at the numbers in guides like NADA the loss of a couple of horses compared to the overall value increase made it a no brainer for me.
