C5 427 forged motor?

I'm hoping that we can get the new stuff put together into the drive train next week. I actually took a lot of video of the disintegration of my car, but when viewing it all, I thought, "wow, how dull seeing all that old dirty stuff!". I can see where having two camcorders running would be a big benefit with something like that. One running from a fixed position, and the other handheld to get closeup shots and zoom in on where the action really is.

Well, today was a wash out for me. Had the guy supposed to do my garage erection come out this morning to look over the slab and bring a contract for me to sign. Then that little sore throat I've been having the last couple of days blossomed yesterday into a genuine biohazard. So just as well I hung around here all day. Wish I had stock in Kleenex so I would feel I was getting something positive out of my head draining more fluid then I can possibly be ingesting.

Oh well, if I feel better tomorrow, I'll be running out there. I believe Chris will be continuing with the driveshaft install. Not sure what will take place next after that. I think Chris was going to be installing that new fuel pump and lines today since that isn't as video-worthy as the other stuff.

I washed out today..... I was going to run out to Xtreme, but really didn't feel up to it, so I threw the ball in to Chris's court. He said he would get photos of the new driveshaft install, so I could stay home. I really didn't want to spread my germs around anyway, and he didn't want to take the chance of getting sick either.

Hopefully I'll feel better (and less infectious) later on in the week.....

Well, I'm definitely feeling better, and apparently Chris is out of the woods as well, but with my garage being delivered today and my needing to be around for it's erection, there is obviously a real conflict concerning my getting video of both events. Luckily I had decided to buy another Panasonic camcorder just like my other one, so Keli asked Jordan (one of the guys working with Chris) to stop by here to pick it up along with a tripod so Chris could use it to get the video for me while I am tied up here.

I'm really disappointed that I won't be there in person to see some of the drivetrain stuff while it's being done, but nothing that can be done about it. This will have to be the next best thing for me. Hopefully Chris will get some real good footage for me. The building should be finished no later than Tuesday, so hopefully I'll still be able to catch a good bit of the install after that time.

I knew the cards were heavily stacked against me trying to juggle these events so they wouldn't overlap, but no way in hell I could have predicted both Chris and I getting sick AND a hurricane kicking up it's heals at us all at the same time. :nonod:

Can anyone remember? Didn't I used to have a blue C5 Z06? Seems to me I remember having one, but I haven't seen it for so long, well, now I'm not so sure. I think I left it somewhere for someone to work on, but I haven't heard anything about it from anyone, and well, now I'm just not sure any longer.... :shrug01:

Takes time to do a major build right....so patience is key! It will be worth it when it is all finished.

Who are you? Do I know you? :lmao:

Sorry, but I think my brain has just been overloaded and I've blown a couple of fuses lately.....

:lmao: Just a lucky guess, and 40 years in the construction/contracting business.

Perhaps so. I guess not everyone you have sold to insisted that you live up to your promises...... I take a much harder line on that then I used to early on in life when I figured out that no one is going to look out for you except for yourself. Being a "nice guy" just gets you a hurt buttocks in most cases...

Just so no one gets the wrong impression from the last couple of posts in this thread, no, I am not having issues with my drivetrain build or in any way dissatisfied with the way the build is being handled. Do I wish it was done right now? Why of course I do! But shtuff just happens sometimes that is out of everyone's control, and although you can't blame anyone for them, you sure do wish the circumstances themselves just hadn't happened.

Just wanted to make certain that people wouldn't read things implicated between the lines that just were not there in reality.

WHAT!?!? You want your moneys worth!? Why....What's wrong with you!?....that's unamerican! (or so it seems) I know what you mean Rich...it's a pleasant surprise when you DO get what you pay for nowadays isn't it? Sadly we expect to get the shaft more often than not. You can't even go to McDonald's without having to check the bag before you leave...

Well, looks like I may be able to get out to Xtreme Wednesday and Friday of this week to continue with the video of the drivetrain build. Chris's grandfather died a few days ago and of course that has thrown yet another kink into his life. This has just been a messed up couple of weeks for everyone, it seems. Seems like everything that CAN go wrong, is.....

Well, Wednesday is going to be "iffy". The crew didn't finish up with my building today like I had hoped. Just some minor things to be done, but those "minor" things may be real time consuming. Two of the rollup doors are not quite right, so the guy is going to try to nudge them into better alignment. So that could be either a 10 minute job or a 5 hour job.

Hoping for the best so I can get out to Xtreme early, but I'm not holding my breath. Might be later in the afternoon if things don't go as speedily as I would like.

Then Monday and Tuesday the concrete apron is scheduled to be put in. Subject to the weather, of course. I may have to just ask Chris to continue on, and I just have to accept that getting video of everything for this build just cannot happen. :banghead:

Darn.... The guys didn't get finished until just past 1pm with the building, so I didn't get to run out to Xtreme today like I had hoped. I certainly didn't want to rush the guys finishing up the last few details. I think the building turned out GREAT looking.

Chris told me that he will likely be putting the new motor into the cradle on Friday, so I'm going to be out there then to get back on the beam with the drivetrain upgrade being put to video. On Monday and Tuesday I'm going to try to just get the concrete guy started and then head over to Blountstown. I don't need to oversee just putting that apron down. Watching the car stuff is a whole lot more important and interesting to me. I guess what I am most looking forward to is the first startup of the new engine. I really can't wait for that day....

:pics::pics::pics:Please and thanks:thumbsup:

Man, I wish! I haven't been there for over two weeks now. The last thing I really have is the removal of the drivetrain from the frame, and that's already shown in this thread. I think Chris took pics of the disassembly of the torque tube and replacing the stock driveshaft with the carbon fiber one, so maybe he or Keli can post some of them here....
