For you aspiring astronomers and astrophysicists. The earths circumference is approx. 24,000 miles. It takes 24 hours for the earth to complete 1 revolution, meaning we are rotating at 1000 mph. If you fly in an airplane at 1000 mph going in the direction of the earths rotation, are you in fact traveling at 2000 mph? Conversely, if you fly an airplane in the opposite direction at 1000 mph, are you in fact going 0 mph?
