Corvette GTP Eagle HU-02 return's to racing

For my friends here in Corvetteflorida, here's some pictures of my and my brother Chris Robarge's Eagle Corvette GTP serial #02.
This chassis had sat in Nashville area in the corner of Baker-Curb race shop
since 1990. In rough shape and needless to say desperate need of restoration.
Since about a year ago Chris and I have devoted ourselves to the restoration of this GTP. About the only thing of real difference has been the engine swap from the sb chevy to the use of the new LS Chevy engine for reliability in racing.

the 40 car was orginally to replace the Lola 40 chassis of past for Baker racingw/ GM pulling out of the Lola Corvette GTP program, and Hendrick motorsports losing interest, all chassis came to an end. The car became ols school with the interest shifting to SPICE WORKS and later the Intrepids.

So, here is our restoration completed and ready now for shipping here to Florida for HSR, SVRA, and NASA racing. No she'll not be a garage queen any longer.
Enjoy

Wow!! You guys have done well! If you click on my profile you will see the Hendrick car with my boys standing in front of it. (back in 07) I can only imagine what that ride would be like.....:dancer01:

sure enough your boys are indeed in front of the hendricks #52 chassis.

We're very excited as is most all the GTP racing oganizations to have the Corvette GTP represented again in racing.
Alot of work into this car because the only thing related to Corvette is the name, except the engine. All parts were hand made by Chris Robarge of RPM Restorations at his shop. Chris being my brother. There is a complete resto album in facebook under my name.
Thanks for your reply and maybe we'll hook up one day for a picture of the boys behind the wheel.

John, you and your brother are very talented individuals! My hat's off to the effort put forth to build this car! And if the opportunity ever presents itself, my boys would jump at the chance to get behind the wheel! I must warn you though, the oldest one now has his drivers license! :rofl1: I'm reminded every month when the insurance bill is due....:nonod:
