Did any of the Vette owners here go? I went and there were a few Vettes there, including a pretty nice turbo'd silver C5.

Was it on the calendar here? If so, I must have missed it...... :shrug01:

Where was it held?

Where was it held?

I don't think that it was on the calendar. It was mainly a Cobra meet, of the AC or Shelby variety. It was held at Fantasy of Flight, just wondered if anybody here went.

I finally got some of the few pics I took up.

Sorry I missed it:( It's not that far from me and I love that place:thumbsup:

Took the father in law there for his birthday...retired air force type.....took a bi-plane ride and he loved it:thumbsup:

Next time they do this, let us know and we'll toss it on the calendar:thumbsup:

I'll try to get lead time next year since I know that they are doing this now. I only found out about it like the day before. The same as with a lot of the cool meets I stumble across...

Oh... and I love Fantasy of Flight too. I've had an unhealthy obsession with aircraft most of my life.

Roar N Soar

They just had a great show at the Fantasy of Flight. It was called Roar N Soar. Had loads of aircraft, motorcycles, cars and boats. Maybe a month ago. Well worth seeing if they do it again next year.

Yep, that was it. Were you there?

Yes I was. First time I've ever seen the place even though I live maybe 10 minutes away. Awesome show. I have no idea of how many pics I took. Enjoyed the heck out of it

Yea, it was pretty cool. Definately throw some pics up (meaning all of them :hehehe:). Where in Auburndale do you live? Before I came back to the forum I drove past a house while trying to get past a Police roadblock and there was a gold C3 in one of the houses front yard. Near the school (where I was trying to go, and no they weren't looking for me), or no?

I'm maybe 10 minutes from you, I live just off of 557.

..... even though I live maybe 10 minutes away.

I'm about the same distance away (Lake Gibson High School), yet I hadn't known of a hot-rod gathering there, either, and we've been trying to find-out when ther are local cruises or Shows since we've put our '82 back-on the street:
is there anything going-on weekly or monthly in Poke Cownie?
:shrug01:

When we lived up-North, the Johnstown, Pa. Corvette Club hosted a huge Show, open to anything but with exclusive parking for Corvettes, at an airport which was shut-down for the day so vehicles could park on the many runways, that regularly drew 300+ cars, :
military planes & choppers would be on-hand for tours & inspections by patrons, and it was very well received in the community.

I live just off N. Berkley Rd next to Lake Myrtle Park (the soccer fields)

I haven't found too much going on in good ole Pork County. In the Ledger (AKA mullet wrapper) each Thursday is a section called "Timeout" In it are a couple of cruises or informal shows that occur. One is listed as being at the Burger King located at 3590 Harden Blvd on Fridays from 5:30-9 and another is the Main Street Car Show that is occurring this evening from 6-9 on Tennessee Ave. between Main and Pine in front of Munn Park. Both are free

Hummm maybe I'll go to the show on Tennessee, haven't been to that one in a long time. Can you make it?

Fiancee was traveling through downtown Lakeland the 1st Friday of November, and thought she saw a large gathering of hot-rods @ Munn Park:
she is off-tonight, and although she is fighting a sore-throat, we will try to check-out that deal

Are we correct to assume this held the first Friday of every month?

Hey USA-1, I was born and raised in Greensburg, PA (it's not the end of the world.......but you can see it from there), and went to Johnstown a few times in the 50's and 60's while growing up. Left for the Army in 66, and haven't been back to Johnstown since. Nice to have another Pennsylvania alumni here!

*************** Warning - Thread Hijack *************************
GSHS class of 64. We were the first class to go a full year in the (then) new school. The class of 63 got half a year in the school before graduating. I actually lived in South Greensburg (or Hufftown for those in the know), but NO ONE knows where that is. Pictures brought back some memories. The Greensburg station didn't look that good when I left for the Army in 66! They must have "freshened it up a bit" while I was gone. :rofl1:I remember the yearly train trip up to Horseshoe Bend and back again, as well as walking over the bridge on Main Street while a coal burning engine ran underneath. Still have a 63 and a 64 yearbook from GSHS.

I'm not real sure. I haven't been to the one at Burger King ever and have only been to the one on Tennessee once.
