• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

Farewell to my baby..

Wassup!!!
Well, rather than beating around the bush I'll just come out with it ..I'm selling my Vette.
There are many reasons as to why. But the biggest is I just lost interest in it, And I can't justify keeping it and paying on it when it just sits there.

So anyhow, RichZ will be removing me as a mod (not that I was here much lately anyway), and I'll be around now and then to see what's going on with those of you whom I call friend.:icon_cheers:

At least I still have my Mustang!!:nanana: ..... :hide:....j/k

Damn Ray........sorry to hear that. Maybe somewhere down the road the old feelings will come back. But until that time, take time to enjoy everything that you do, and check in from time to time.

Sorry to see you let her go Ray, but I hope things go well with whatever you do.

I agree 100 % Ray i have had my vette for 9 years and had lost interest many times. And my vette could leave the building at anytime, for the right piece of land (hint Ken)or CASH:hehehe:But i would get another vette in time .

Damn, Ray, I'm really sorry to hear you just lost interest in your Vette. I know you said a while back that you felt this way, but I had hoped you would get the spark back.

You are always welcome here, of course, so don't be a stranger. And Connie and I will always consider Angel and yourself as friends.

Anyway, I hope you pursue other interests and they get the blood pumping for you.

Take care............

From time to time I think I've lost interest in mine too, but then I get in it and drive it and I say to myself, I'm driving a Corvette....MY Corvette! What could I possibly replace it with? No other car make looks or handles like it. And I remember growing up seeing people driving Corvettes and I always thought, Wow, that's the coolest car ever made. Hey...It still is! Now, if I was making payments on one I might feel differently. But my old car is paid for and even though it needs a little TLC it's still a Corvette. MY Corvette...

Ray,

Whatever the reason(s) I'm sure knowing you, they're very sound and well thought out:thumbsup:

We all do what we have to do from time to time.

I sold mine a few months ago and have gotten the itch several times recently to replace it...but I have a goal:thumbsup:

If and when the time is right, you'll again do what you need to do.

Please stay around. If owning a vette is a requirement for mod, then I have to go as well.

Obviously that's not the case!

Besides, you have your own RANTING ROOM. What else you want? A 401k and key to the executive head (mens' room for you freakin' landlubbers:rofl1::rofl1:)

Seriously brother, you and Angel are friends FIRST and before anything elses.
And regardless of what you drive (yes, even that damned Ford!- Hell! I'm sportin' rice!:lmao::lmao:), you guys will always remain friends!:icon_cheers::usa_flag:

No, it's not really a requirement. But having a presence here and being an active participant of this site, is. You know I consider Ray a friend of mine, but the whole idea of having moderators is to not only help keep the peace, but to also be part of a nucleus of members who will help out in trying to keep interest flowing on the site by participating in existing threads, and trying to start conversations as well via new threads.

Ray would have been perfectly welcome to remain a moderator, but from what I could see, along with his losing interest in his Corvette, he also lost interest in being here on this site. Personally, I felt it might be a source of embarrassment and even guilt that he was neglecting helping out as a mod here, so I felt it best to remove that seemingly intrusive obligation, and just have Ray feel (hopefully) more comfortable coming here as a regular member without the possibility of feeling there was some pressure for him to do so.

I honestly wish that Ray would be spending more time with us, but from what I could gather, I do not believe that will be the case. Which saddens me quite a bit. He was the very first person I met IN PERSON because of this site when Connie and I first pulled into the hotel parking lot two years ago for the first UCP we attended. Connie and I have met with Ray and Angel several times here and there, and I just can't relate very well how much I sincerely hope we will continue to do so. But I have seen my share of friendships drift apart when a common interest is no longer common.

Quite honestly, I am doing some soul searching hoping that somehow I didn't let Ray down in any way, somehow. :shrug01: Was there anything I could have done to help him keep his interest up in his vette? :shrug01::shrug01:

 You guys are AWESOME!!!:notworthy:

We may revisit the idea of getting another Vette at a later date...Who knows.

Ray, I never had the pleasure of meeting you and TXMOMMA in person but I feel like I know you as a friend anyway from your threads, posts, and Ray's Ranting Room. Thank you for being a great moderator and I hope you and your wife will stay in touch through the Forum. A blessed Merry Christmas and Holiday Season to you and yours, Mark :thumbsup:

Gordon,

I am glad you explained this because my first thought was that you were making reference to one of our previous Presidents! :rofl1::rofl1::rofl1:

Man, people just won't leave Monica alone.:rofl1:

Ray, I hope you stay around. You've got more to contribute to this site than being a 'vette owner. I'm sure a lot of us have found our interest in our 'vettes waning at some point. Hopefully yours will return in force some day. Best of luck and Merry Christmas!

Aw comeon man. Bill was just pokin' fun at her:lmao:

I agree Ray, stick around:thumbsup:

Sorry to hear ya go Ray...I know your pain...have had mine only 2 years and from time to time, I had to have had the urge to sell for one reason or another...Now with the economy the way it is, there will be more making the same decision...At one time or another we all have to set our priorities.

Ray, sorry you have decided to sell your Vette. I understand losing passion for something. Used to be I could not wait from the weekend to play golf. Now, I haven't played for almost 2 years and I really don't miss it.

Good luck to you in everything you do and happy holidays to you, TXMOMMA and your family.
