Illegal imigrant tennants

Heck, when Connie and I went down to the Garlits Museum trip, we stayed in the area below Orlando at a Microtel. When we went up to our room, there were about 20 Mexicans (looked like some sort of work crew) who came up to the third floor via the stairway. You KNOW what was going on there, right? Yep! One rented the room for a single person, and the other 19 snuck in to sack out in that room for the night.

Man, That SUCKS!

They usually have their renting process done through someone that is legal, everything will be in their name.
My father has to deal with this all the time, usually a white crew leaders son will come up and rent the place, and week later there are 20 illegal living in a 2 bedroom.

Right now most of you know that Greg and I have lovely neighbors like this that throw huge parties in huge numbers with a disco ball and all on little holidays like Christmas eve, and the place of residence is so crowded that the little laqwnmover sheds are now homes and fit three to four each!

Your lucky if you only have one nieghbor like that! I thought everyone living in Florida was like me,I have 2 or 3 like that! Call code enforcement they say nothing we can do.Call your Senators, they want to give them Amnesty, call your representative and he never answers in any way. We as Americans are screwed...We all need to burn our social security cards and start speaking Spanish...

I gave em the boot

Never really determined if mine were legal(pretty sure they weren't) or not but they are history now. I feel better now..

I have a suspicion that my existing tennants might be illegals..Is it legal for me to ask for proof of legality and if not am I in violation of law as a landlord of same????
Just get 2 of your buddies, (get 1 an Immigration and Naturalization Service uniform and the other one a Border Patrol uniform), and then take them with you to collect the rent. My guess is that you won't have to say anything, and that you'll never see them again. I don't like the situation either, but until we get some people with cajones in DC, we're stuck with it! Sad but true?????:shrug01:

The best thing to do if you can't cofirm that they are legal is don't rent to them. The list of reason to not rent to them would be to long to list. But if they cannot find jobs or housing they will go back where they came from.As the economy slows hopefully a lot of them will do just that.

I am buying the property and they kinda came with it....But they are history now :wavey:

If you think that the price of your produce will only go up a few cents you are sadly mistaken. I'm not saying that it's right to hire illegals but if you look at it from a business standpoint, it is good business.

Illegals save the business owner money up the ying-yang; they pay them crap, don't have to pay them insurance, you can can them at anytime, they are expendible and replaceable within hours, etc. If "Americans" did the jobs WITHOUT whining that illegals do, then we wouldn't have any illegals in the first place. Keep in mind that everyone else entered this country "illegally" as well prior to Ellis Island. Don't get mad at the illegals, get mad at the people that employ them.

Most people don't understand the horrible living conditions that a lot of these people came from that I have seen first hand so I cannot blame them for wanting to make a better life for themselves in a hurry. Again, not condoning breaking our laws but since I've seen where they are coming from I cannot blame them. They also come from a very backward society with a lack of education so what else do you expect from them? Again, don't blame them, blame the employers. Most illegals I have met are nice, hardworking people and what really pisses me off as that they have American born children just as backwards as they are. It is sad to see Americans that are born to fail and that really pisses me off.

If I had my way, I would happily pull the welfare list and swap out identities with all the American dredge that are holding us down and the hardworking illegals. I guarantee we'd see higher productivity, less taxes and a better quality of life all around and dump the dredge south of the border and see how they like it!!!!!!! I'm positive the Mexican government would be a lot less forgiving then we are.:twocents:

Oh yeah and as far as renting to them, if you rented to them then you are screwed because you should've asked them from the get go. If they came with the property, then you can call I.C.E. and have them checked out. Florida has a wonderful law called the "unwelcomed guest" law. As long as you want them gone regardless of the reason and this is considering they don't have a lease or lease has expired, all you have to do is call the cops and tell them you want them gone due to the "Florida unwelcomed guest law," without giving any reason whatsoever and the police must remove them, no questions asked.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

I for one have seen (1st hand) some of the living conditions to which they're "born into".
And understand it could just as easily have been me born into that situation, as the Soul doesn't get to choose it's lifestyle.:nonod: I agree with the statement you've made regarding their work ethic also. I tell my kids all of the time how hard most of them work, and how little most are paid. I also point out to them (my kids) how well most of them (around here anyway) take pride in the way they dress and groom themselves while out in public. Pointing out some of the American slobs wearing Pajamas, house slippers etc while at let's say... Walmart.

:wavey: zzzona... I never could figure out or understand why anyone holds the "title" of their "original" Nationality.. American.? (IE)Mexican American.
If a person is THAT attatched to their "culture"...go home!
If you're an American, that should be IT! nothing else comes before that.IMO.
I Don't consider myself or call myself a German American. If a person is born here, They're an AMERICAN period. Even know their parents may be illegals, the child is an American and is afforded all of our rights as such. So why the two titles? Would I be considered an American Mexican if I were to move to Mexico, or an American **** in any other country for that matter?:NoNo:

This is just my humble opinion, please don't judge me for being a Dweeb and voicing it.

I couldn't agree more! I think the whole "hyphenated" American thing is ridiculous. You can't be both. You can be one or the other, but not both. I could almost let a person slide who was born in a foreign country and then became an American citizen but that's about it.

To answer your question Mexicans are Americans whether they like it or not. Last time I checked the two continents as a whole are the Americas. In Europe regardless of nationality, we are all considered Americans. And no, in Mexico, you would not be an American-Mexican, you would simply be a "gringo" or an "Aleman" but not an American-Mexican. It never seizes to amaze me how this great country of ours is the only country in the world where everyone is born here and yet no one is from here!!!!

Nothing pisses me off more then when someone asks me where I'm from and they answer with another questions as to where my parents are from, grandparents, etc. What f@cking difference does it make and who gives a s#it where they are from?! You asked me where "I" was from originally, not them. Just my:twocents: :twocents:
